Typical Swedish lunch soupe and fika at the Swedes' home
Join Birgitta in my team, or me, and let us guide you from Kungsträdgården via our favorite art outside and inside the metro, to one of our homes. There we serve a Swedish-style soup lunch followed by the famous SWEDISH FIKA (coffee/tea/juice with delicious homemade cinnamon buns and Swedish cakes). We will tell you how important the Swedish FIKA tradition is and how it is slowly spreading even outside the country's borders through us..! Maybe you want a super recipe for cinnamon buns and a doggy bag of cookies to take home after this guided lunch tour? Birgitta lives in a beautiful apartment from 1930, under the roofs of Stockholm. The view over Karlberg Castle is nice and Birgitta can tell several stories about it. Catarinas lives in the so-called Miljon program in Solna, four stations from where we meet. That type of housing changed the lives of many Swedes. She guides to a stunning view with a spectacular sculpture and through the mini forest of "Nothing", also with a royal story to tell. Before the soup lunch and SWEDISH FIKA, in her apartment on the seventh floor. Before these guided lunch tours, we always meet in front of Jakob's church in Kungsträdgården at 12:00, by the statue of Jussi Björling. He is in our memories and stories! We look forward to spending a few hours with you and the other guests. Welcome! Birgitta and Catarina
Ice skating on lake Källtorpssjön
Ice skating on lakes, or the sea, is a wonderful winter-activity and very popular in Sweden. This activity is suitable for beginners and for more experienced ice-skaters. We’ll meet at lake “Källtorpssjön”, situated only 15 minutes from Stockholm city by bus. Right by the lake you will pick up your skates which you have pre-ordered (the rent is 20 Euro for an hour) and from there we head straight to the ice. Depending on your previous experience, I’ll teach you the basic technique, or we go skating straight away. After about an hour, we will go inside for some well-deserved hot or cold drinks and some chitchatting about ice-skating, world-peace or anything else. All practical details will be sent upon booking. Hope to see you soon! Br, Martin

Discover the secrets of Vilnius old town
Our daily free walking tour is a very good start of your visit in Vilnius as it gives an overview of the city and it's culture. The aim of the tour is not only to to show for the city guests the highlights of Vilnius but also walk the group through the secret courtyards and passages that would be hard for the travelers to discover on their own. The tour starts at the Cathedral Square and we present you the brief history of Vilnius. You will find out how our Grand Dukes ruled the city and what enemies the Grand Duchy of Lithuania had in the Middle Ages. You will probably be surprised to learn how powerful, big and threatening the country was in the past. After some time, we take take you through the narrow, medieval streets of the old town towards an area where mostly Jews and Germans lived in the past. You will get to know about different nationalities that lived in the city, how they all cohabit together and what happened to them, as Vilnius today is not so multi-ethnic anymore. For the dessert, we will show you the Republic of Uzupis – the magical part of Vilnius that has its own crazy story. Keep your camera on, pay attention to the small artistic details in this area, and relax. Don’t take seriously, everything the guide says here, humor is the most important here. Other things to note This is a Free Tour so tips are kindly accepted in the end. The 1€ price on AirBnB is a booking fee so we could host ourselves on this platform. The group sizes vary from 3 to 20 people. If you wish to have a private tour with us,please contact us at info@vilniusfreetour.lt or +370 69 227491.
Ice fishing experience in the heart of Helsinki
Helsinki has a centuries-old fishing tradition and you can catch many different species in the heart of the city - on the ice! I will teach you the traditional ice fishing technique used in Finland. You will get to walk and fish on the ice of the Baltic Sea in a safe way and get to see some Helsinki landmarks from the sea perspective. I will also tell you about the Baltic Sea and its unique wildlife. Baltic Sea is one of the biggest brackish water pools in the world, meaning it is not exactly a sea nor a lake, but something between! We will meet with the group at the Sibelius Monument in Helsinki, then continue to the fishing spot together, most likely by foot. I (the host) will arrange fishing gear, bait and the necessary safety equipment. Participants will need outdoor clothes suitable to the weather. Typical fish caught in the area: - Common: perch, Baltic herring, ruffe, roach & smelt (all edible) - Less common: zander, whitefish & sea trout (all delicious!) You can keep the catch if you want or you can donate it to the local rescue cats. Catching a fish through the ice can be hard sometimes, so I cannot guarantee a catch, but I can guarantee new and fun experiences and lots of fresh air! :)

Experience Stockholm With A Local / Discounts For Couples
We'll visit one of the largest and best-preserved medieval city centers in Europe: Stockholm's Gamla Stan (Old Town). This is where it all started, back in the year 1252. You'll learn about our most important kings—their names are easy to remember—and hear the quirky details about the current royal family. Then we'll unearth one of the best-kept secrets in the city. We'll check out the scene of Stockholm's bloodiest massacre, where over 80 people were executed, and touch a thousand-year-old Viking runestone. You'll walk along the narrowest street of this amazing city and learn why it's a tourist magnet—and I'll also tell you a secret that most people do not know at all. Lastly, we'll admire the beautiful architecture of this unique place and enjoy the experience. At the end I can provide a huge list of recommended activities with restaurants, bars or just ideas what to do after we are done with our walk through the old town. Most importantly, we will do this no matter what kind of weather awaits us—rain or shine, as they say—because I can protect you from even the most severe conditions. Other things to note The tour might last a little bit more than 90 minutes depending on how many questions you will have and how fast we will be moving :)
Hike and sauna
I welcome you to hiking through beautiful virgin nature near the city. First we will meet up at our house, so that you can leave bags or luggage here, then we will walk right out in nature and after a while we will be out in the wilderness. We will experience cooking over an open fire, and eating by a secret glade and a beautiful forrest lake. Once we reach our house again we will enjoy the culture of Swedish steam sauna, with spa features. In the winter we might go on the ice and in the summer we like to swim in the lakes! What I share with me is mine and my family and friends' favorite hobby, and we are happy to share all the knowledge that we have acquired about Swedish nature and culture since childhood. NOTE Hiking with only a single man unfortunately does not happen.
