There are no streetlights so it's ideal for watching or taking pictures of the northern lights. The last years the whales has been coming all the way in the fjord. The drive from Tromsø is about 4,5 hours. I recommend traveling by ferry over the Lyngen fjord. The shortest trip is drive from Alta.
