Eat/Drink like A LOCAL - Taverns & Ramen
LET'S GET OUT OF THE TOURIST AREA where it is overpriced and crowded with people! This tour focuses on Ueno, which is not as crowded as Shibuya, Shinjuku and is less touristy. It is also famous with Japanese foodies for a good quality at reasonable prices. I'm going to take you to popular bars and restaurants for ONLY LOCALS (NO TOURISTS!!) where the staff speaks only Japanese. I will order signature dishes, and we will discuss the food and drink (and you can pepper me with questions). We will visit 4 restaurants/taverns in total, where you will sample sashimi, grilled fish and skewered meat, etc. You will also have the opportunity to try UNIQUE Japanese alcoholic drinks (5 or more different type of drinks) and you'll be able to experience what Japanese taverns are like. After visiting these three taverns, we will end the tour at a great Ramen shop that is popular with locals. At the end of the tour, I will explain which train station you need to go, depending on where you go. You are going to have a full-size meal on the day in several different restaurants included ramen, so again pls come hungry!

【New release at a special price】 Welcome to Tokyo, Japan! You may know Tsukiji Fish market is one of the most popular tourist spots in Tokyo. At Tsukiji fish market, about 500 street food stalls are waiting for you. But the problem is, many of them serve very similar items! Many food stalls of Oyster, cooked skewered Tuna, Japanese rolled omelet, Mochi stuffed with strawberry. Some of them are wonderful honestly, but some are not so good, not only in quality, but also in quantity, price, and waiting time! And plus, to tell the truth, it's extremely crowded in this area already, then it's difficult to find nice shops. How shall the tourists find the best ones, and hidden ones in Tsukiji? We have explored, tried(tasted) and compared them from completely “neutral” viewpoint, and selected the best street food stalls! And plus, if you have chance to come to Tokyo Tsukiji fish market all the way from your country, we hope that you don’t leave without visiting nice tourist spots around the market. Meet The Real Last Samurai in Ueno
Asakusa is pretty straightforward. All you need is a good guidebook. But Ueno is different. Without a proper guide, you will only scratch the surface and miss many stuff. I use Saigo Takamori, the real model for the movie "The Last Samurai," to help you understand the true Ueno. Thus we start the tour from the statue of Saigo. I'll explain the major battle he fought in Ueno 150 years ago to destroy the old regime of Tokugawa Shogun. Then by introducing the Buddhist monk Tenkai, I'll explain why the battle was took place in Ueno. There used to be over 30 temples and shrines in Ueno. It was a huge spiritual center for Tokugawa government. We'll also visit The Shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu who was the final winner of the more than a hundred year long real game of thrones and the founder of Tokugawa Shogunate. I'll offer you not information you can get easily from a guidebook but a perspective you can only get from the expert who studied the subjects for years. Other things to note: It's a walking tour. Please wear comfortable shoes.
