Exploring the Waters of Tolantongo
We will meet at the "Angel de Independencia" approximately around 6:15am, departing early to escape the city chaos. Our group will have private comfortable transportation. We will stop for an early breakfast in Actopan, a city halfway to our destination. The day is divided into three parts. Pool Tranquility: Start your day relaxing a while in the “pocitos”; naturally warm thermal pools that provide astounding views that soothe & clear the body and mind –perfect for “the gram.” River Relaxation: Next, the turquoise-colored river is well-managed and is naturally warm due to the thermal springs, a complete relaxing experience. Lunch will be alongside the river (weather permitting). Cave Exploration: Finally, you will see awe-inspiring waterfalls and unexpected adventure that our guests have described as “life changing.” We will head out by 5:30PM arriving between 9-10:30PM, full of new experiences and photos to share with envious family/friends. Injuries, while rare, may occur during an outdoor exploration. This experience includes water, creating slippery walking surfaces near the pools and river. There is a bonus cave (optional) with low clearance –be aware of height to reduce risk of head injury. There is inherent risk with any outdoor activity. Protect yourself by wearing proper footwear and being cautious during each activity. Emergency clinics onsite.

Cerámica y chelas
Join us for “Pottery and beers” where we you will create your first art piece with clay while you drink cervecitas. º You learn how to sculpture exactly what you want: Mugs, plates, pipes, bongs, bowls - whatever you can imagine. º You glaze (paint) your creation, so you experience what it is working with color glazes and underglazes. We provide you with everything you need: 3 different types of clay (stoneware, Oaxacan clay, Zacatecan clay), sculpting tools, glazes, and other ceramic toots. This activity includes the “firing of your pieces” this means that your piece in order to be ready needs to be cooked under really high temperatures in a Kiln. This process takes about 7-10 days, but don’t worry we will ship your pieces after they are done. Shipping within Mexico is already included. Disclaimer: pottery is a unique art and involves an extensive process and every creation is unique. Due to the immense heat of 1000 C + degrees your piece’s form might change to your initial design. If you are unhappy we will decide on a case-by-case basis to resolve this as customer satisfaction is our biggest priority. Send us a message anytime, we are happy to answer your questions :)

Pre-Hispanic sunrise of Xochimilco
In the South of the Mexico City, we can find Xochimilco, where prehispanic natives built the chinampas on top of a great lake. This are islands used for agriculture, that through time, conformed a great network of canals, in which we will sail through time, enjoying nature and the presence of its flora and fauna. We will embark on a cayuco (small boat), a little bit before sunrise and we´ll silently watch the birds waking up through the mist, realizing that this is a living ecosystem which is home for several native birds, including migrating ones. We are going to row through the canals, the same way as the natives did it so many years ago. We´ll have a small coffe break and arrive to our chinampa in time for breakfast. Then, we will learn from the ancient and new techniques used at the chinampa to produce a sustainable an organic agriculture. Other things to note: It is advise that guests should know how to swim, just in case ; ) There´s a dry toilet for men and women at the chinampa. As well as water and soap to wash your hands and face.
Chinampas: Living an ancient culture
We will sail on canoe through the most conserved channels of Xochimilco wetland. During the tour, we will tell you about the history of the place and its importance to the sustainability of Mexico City. In your way, you will recognize the biological richness like birds, snakes, frogs and plants. We will arrive at a chinampa where you can get your hands dirty experiencing the ancestral technique of cultivation and discovering why it is considered a world heritage. Also, you will get involve in the diary activities in the chinampa like crop irrigation, harvest or seeding. Before going back to land, you will have time to relax and enjoy the peace of the place. This is a cultural tour that helps to promote the community development.
Prehispanic Shaman Renewal
Melt away stress in this Temazcal experience with a native healer and spiritual guide. The sweat lodge is the setting for a 2,500-year-old ritual that uses a prehispanic technique (Mayan-Zapotec or Aztec, depending of the guide) to illuminate a pathway into your inner self and begin a rebirth of love in your soul. You’ll enjoy freshly brewed herbal tea from a medicinal garden as you drink in teachings of Temazcal history. After applying aloe, salts and herbs to your body, you’ll listen to songs and wise words to calm the mind and breathe vapor from medicinal plants. Other things to note: *The duration of the experience inside the Temazcal may vary for the group or individuals, depending on how each person feels (usually about 1-2 hours). *Because there are sometimes many rituals per week the ritual is performed by different guides: Javier Moctezuma (Mexica descendant), Huitzi (zapotec "Nahual"), Luis Gómez (medicine man), María or myself (medicine women). *Luis Gómez, María Luis Belmonte or myself translate the ritual from spanish to english when its guided by Huitzi or Javier. IMPORTANT: *The shamans have to travel to CDMX for this ritual, the logistics, expenses per person and planning that involve this ritual make it difficult for us to give full refunds when canceling less than 48 hours in advance. In case of covid, airbnb gives full refund.*

I'll help you bargain for one if you like, and I'll start to explain the basics of Lucha Libre so you know what we're about to see and do. 4) We'll head in and watch the show together! Please note not all tours offered on this site actually go in with you but I do and comment throughout so you can appreciate what's going on! I'll also teach you the right chants so you can really get in on the action! 5) Optional Fridays: If you're up for it, I invite you to add on a bonus activity (no extra cost!) which is going to Patrick Miller nightclub afterwards. This is a unique Mexico City gem! It involves high-energy music (similar to 80s style) and dancing in a really special scene. I'll explain and guide you so you can get the most out of seeing the amazing dance circles, hard core "Patricio" fans and if you're brave enough, even join in the dancing! Other things to note Lucha libre is more a show than fighting so don't worry about it being too violent. In fact, this experience is very family friendly! If you prefer a partying vibe, I recommend Patrick Miller after!
Churros masterclass with chef
Planning a trip to CDMX? Follow me on instagram: @your_mexican_guide We are very passionate about churros and chocolate, especially the Mexican kind. You may not know this but chocolate was invented in Mexico by an indigenous group and then exported to the world. Together, we will cook one of Mexico´s favorite pastries. We will go through the whole process from scratch. We will also create an amazing ganache chocolate using some of the most amazing cacao beans we have from Mexico. We will also make hot chocolate from scratch to pair with the churros. We will be cooking located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of Mexico City. Don´t worry about needing fancy equipment because you do not need a profesional kitchen at home to make this recipe. Other things to note We are a collective of foodies, that love Mexican Food and Culture, from food engineers, chefs, to coffee national judge, we have some of the best rated experiences on Airbnb worldwide, we invite you to check them out.
