Our last destination, and the spot for our sunset (homemade) dinner will be at Praia da Marinha. Marinha is considered one of the most iconic beaches in the Algarve. It's considered by the Michelin Guide as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and as one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world.​ Feel free to swim while we prepare the dinner! From here we will drive you back to Lagos. A Surf day at the Salty Wave Surf School begins with our Surf-Van pick you up at predetermined spot in the lagos área. Depending on the winds, tides and swell size, we'll choose a surf spot that suits the day's conditions and is best for learning. After arriving to the surf spot, we'll grab our gear from the van and head to the sand to get our wetsuits on. The surf session begins with a warm up, introduction of the beach and ocean conditions, surf materials, and safety rules. We will also practice some techniques and pop-ups on the sand. We know you want to go surfing and it is time to show us in the water what you've learned at the sand. Our experience includes 2:30 hours of surfing including, warmup, safety briefing, wetsuit and surfboard and beach transfer if you in Lagos area. We promise you that you will catch waves on your first session! Get ready for an amazing surf experience! We can adjust our lessons according to the students skills, so they can choose between a private lesson or a group lesson. There we will land and have enough time to explore the cave and photos. On our way back we stop at more caves and beaches where we will take time to enjoy the view, swim or relax, it is up to you. We start so early as the sunrise gives the cliffs and rocks a special color and we have the opportunity to have the beaches and water to ourselves, away from mass tourism. Two marine biologists will guide you in this experience and search for Cetaceans (Dolphins and whales) as well as other marine wildlife. During this tour, you will also see different species of marine birds and sometimes sharks & turtles! This is a unique chance to see those incredible animals in the wild but also to learn more about them with experienced marine biologists. You will have the opportunity to learn how we collect data for research and get to know more about our Dolphin & whale projects. This activity lasts for +-2h30, however, to protect the animals from stress, we can only stay with each pod of dolphins for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time. A total of 8 people can join the activity at the same time, providing a unique familiar experience far from mass tourism. The most sighted dolphin species are the common dolphins & bottlenose dolphins. On the other hand, the most sighted whales are the Minkes and Fin whales. From here we will drive you back to Lagos.
