Unique things to do in Genoa

Welcome to my home! After a brief conversation and a small welcome snack, we will cook together a typical Genoese menu (an appetizer, a first dish of pasta, a second and a dessert) and I will tell you a little history and curiosity about the Ligurian cuisine and its traditions We will also eat what I cooked with my family (it includes unlimited water and a bottle of wine every two guests!) I am very happy to share what I have learned from my mother, mother-in-law and the cooking classes I attended: I am not a professional chef!!!

Let's have fun cooking together! Come and learn how to prepare some typical dishes of the Genoese tradition. I will accompany you by telling you the story of the dishes we will cook. After immersing ourselves in the preparation of the dishes, we will have lunch on the terrace overlooking the sea, sipping Italian red wine. At the end of the experience, you will receive your recipe booklet and if you wish, some of the food we have prepared. During the class you will learn how to prepare authentic Ligurian food. We will prepare the doughs, the filling and I’ll share some tips with you. At the end we will eat together what we prepared: Focaccia,, Torta Cappuccina (a vegetable pie), Pansoti (Ligurian ravioli filled with a cheese similar to ricotta and borage) and of course Salsa di Noci (walnut sauce). If you want we can even decide to prepare alternative dishes in advance (at least one week before the lesson). For intolerances and allergies, we inform you that the following products/ingredients will be used: Milk and milk-based products Nuts Egg Flour Garlic Sweet beets Borage Extra virgin olive oil Bread

We'll walk through the historic center along small hidden streets to discover charming squares and stately buildings which tell us old tales, anecdotes and recent stories; you will discover the area as if you were a true Genoese, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take surprising pics !

In Anna's kitchen you will be invited to cook Ligurian style the old way, using mortar and pestle to make pesto sauce and other traditional sauces. Even more you will be taught how to make fresh pasta like Lasagne or Pansotti and dress them with typical sauces. Vegetables pies, seafood and a colorful variety of focaccias Ligurian style will be the extra choices for making up your favourite workshop menus. Anna is fluent either in English and French and will lead you into the genuine Ligurian culture and traditions through her recipes. Local wine and a final meal will be offered in the cozy garden overlooking the gulf.

The tour takes place on the green hills of Monferrato and we will head towards pine forests, lakes and rivers where it will be possible to have a refreshing break during summertime. Depending on the level of skills of the participants I can tailor a tour in order to allow anyone to enjoy a nice day in the open air. No one will be disappointed: from the agonist to the family! And after the ride, we could go to one of the many typical restaurants to taste the delicacies and flavors of the products of the gastronomic tradition, but also and above all the wine that made this region well-known all over the world (i.e. Gavi and Dolcetto di Ovada). Furthermore, a guided tour means to get tips and suggestions to improve your riding technique! Come and snorkeling in San Fruttuoso, which is the oldest protected marine area in Italy You will be enchanted by the marine biodiversity, the breathtaking panoramas, the charming historical context and by Chryst of the Abyss statue Schedule: -H 9.30 or H. 14.30. She will be pleased to open her home to all curious travelers who want to experience a real Genoese dinner. You will start the lesson by preparing the most famous ligurian pasta sauce: pesto. It traditionally consists of crushed garlic, European pine nuts, coarse salt, basil leaves, hard cheese such as Parmigiano-Reggiano all blended with olive oil. Then, learn how to prepare home made Tagliatelle! Sit with your host and enjoy the fruit of your labour and taste the second course ( typically fried anchovies ). Once the work is completed, you will enjoy the meal and the dish tasting with your local host. You will also taste fine local Italian wine.. Finally enjoy the gelato or dessert with some coffee. We'll meet at the Rapallo Harbour, introduce you to my sailboat and set sail straight away. As soon as we exit the harbour we'll be greeted by the stunning view of San Michele di Pagana, one of the less known and most beautiful towns around Portofino, next we'll head in the direction of Portofino passing through the magnificent bays of Santa Margherita ligure and Paraggi. Once close to Portofino I'll sneak inside the tiny harbour and you'll be able to admire the typical painted facades of the village houses and just outside Dolce and Gabbana's private villa hidden behind the bay before passing the Portofino Lighthouse. At this point we will head to San Fruttuoso di Camogli, the real pearl of the region, a tiny village you can only reach by sea built around an ancient abbey in the cutest of bays right in the middle of the Natural reserve. Here you check out the underwater statue "Cristo degli Abissi", you can swim, relax, use the SUP board, try wakesurfing behind the boat (for real) or just sunbathe. I'll drop you off in the same spot as I picked you up in Rapallo. Temperatures are good all year long and it's nice to swim well into December and as early as April! If you want to be picked up and/or dropped off in Santa Margherita that's possible too.. I'll be arriving approximately 15 minutes later. Hope to see you soon! Cheers Giuliano

Boat trip with aperitif at sunset among music, friends and a unique view. Quite flexible timetable, basically departure around 6.30 to explore the Portofino coast with the last of the sun, unlimited swimming in the most hidden and renowned coves between Santa Margherita, Portofino, San Fruttuoso and Camogli; to finish with a breathtaking aperitif at sunset in the place you liked best. The evening ends with a return to the starting point around 9 as the sun goes down and gives us unique colors. There are 2 boats: - A typical 8-metre Ligurian gozzo completely restored in 2021 which therefore has every comfort: awning, bluetooth audio system, fresh water shower, large sundeck and double fridge. The boat can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests plus the skipper who will allow you to enjoy the experience to the fullest. -A new dinghy Salpa Solei 18 from 2023 also equipped with every comfort such as hand shower, fridge, Bluetooth stereo and double sundeck. This elegant and manageable dinghy is perfect for those who love adrenaline without sacrificing comfort and elegance. It can accommodate up to 7 guests plus the skipper. In this cooking lesson you will learn how to cook one of the most typical dishes of the Ligurian tradition starting from scratch: of course I'm talking about pasta with pesto! We will knead different kind of fresh pasta: corzetti, trenette, gnocchi, testaroli or trofie, using traditional tools and we will learn the techniques to shape it. After that we will prepare the famous pesto with the authentic ingredients, obviously with the use of mortar and pestle! We will welcome you with a welcome aperitif / snack in our wonderful location, a flower garden a stone's throw from the Genoa Piazza Principe station and once our dish has been prepared we will have lunch together.
