Ricky's Highland bike adventure tour!
We welcome you to the breathtaking majesty of the Trossachs National Park in the heart of Scotland.

We have created a bicycle tour that takes in some of the most incredible scenery that Scotland has to offer and all after just an hours drive from the centre of Edinburgh.

Starting our ride in the quaint village of Aberfoyle we travel along quiet roads out into the forests, rivers, lochs and mountains that tower all around. The views and experience is hard to describe in words but we are sure you will be in awe of the glorious Loch Ard flanked by Beinn Dubh as carry on to see Loch Arklet from above and looking out to the peaks of the Arrochar Alps.

At the midway point there is an outstanding cafe with good, traditional, Scottish fayre for lunch, drinks and cakes to refuel for the return leg.

It’s hard to pin point just one highlight for this loop but the smooth, undulating road along the banks of the vast Loch Katrine must be right up there. Famed by the world famous literature of Sir Walter Scott we pass by the waterfalls, soaring birds of prey and wild life en route to our end point at the Trossachs Pier where a well deserved ice cream can be taken.
We highly recommend E Bikes for those struggling with strength or fitness. These are available for £15 extra. Less than 3 people in total will incur a surcharge to cover costs. Message for details :)

Other things to note This tour departs promptly and we can not wait for guests who are late. You must meet us at our start point at least 15min before the tour departs to secure your space. The art of Indian homecooking
Don’t let COVID-19 stop you from travelling to India. Find it right here in my little home in London. So far, I have hosted over 500 guests from all around the world (over 25 countries). I have celebrated birthdays with them, shared beautiful conversations and unforgettable moments with them. It will be a small group, so we will all do the cooking together, like a bunch of friends in an Indian kitchen! INTRODUCTION TO SPICES We will learn about ‘Garam Masala’. And no, it’s not just “curry powder”. It’s the basis of understanding individual spices. I will teach you how to blend them to *your* taste. We will create a blend together! INTRODUCTION TO CURRY A basic (yet full of flavour) curry lesson, and here I will teach you how this basic recipe can turn from a healthy weekday meal into a weekend feast. MAGIC OF THE INDIAN KITCHEN We will learn about making homemade things like yoghurt, or paneer, or ghee (it’s much better/cheaper than buying it off the shelf AND IT IS MAGIC). I will also show you a magic trick of how to make amazing rice. THE FEAST We will feast on what we cook! YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE A HANDOUT OF THE DAY’S LESSONS. No time for note-taking, as you’ll be busy cooking, tasting, eating and talking! Remember, this is all about learning that we Indians do eat Indian food regularly, so it’s obviously not as complicated as you think it is.

Choose to leave your handiwork au naturel or dress it up to create a souvenir worthy of a prime spot on your mantlepiece. Students will have a choice between mouse, rat, guinea pig or mole. COVID-19 UPDATE - Classes are now running and are Covid-19 secure. They are now limited to 2 individuals or 2 groups of people from shared households in order to remain Covid-19 secure. Lunch will also no longer be included until we feel it is safe to do so. Other things to note If you live outside the UK, you'll still be able to take your taxidermy creation home with you. We gather in the atrium of tall larch logs around the central hearth sharing stories about our animals, as our ancestors did in the forests of this land. You will meet the animals that are being hand reared and taught to walk for the shows and spectacles for which pedigree Highlanders go through their paces. You will be introduced to Baby and Boy -giant sweet-natured bullocks who adore being fed and talked to. Next, (weather permitting!;-)) you will see the main herd of breeding mothers with their babies -(the nearest thing to real-life teddy bears!)- and Dougie the timid, affectionate bull. Afterwards you can explore the pastures where the animals roam at large. At the end of the tour you are free to wander the farm under your own steam, or enjoy stunning walks in the immediate vicinity with magnificent photographic opportunities. For those wanting to deepen their understanding of the Highlanders, on-farm accommodation is available on Airbnb Crofthouse at the Roundhouse (sleeping up to 8) or Hairy Cow Studio (cosy for 1-2 people). It is not possible to supervise one-on-one contact with the animals; for this check out 'Hug a Hairy' :-)

The Dark Side of Edinburgh
If you want a mundane, humdrum history walk, this is not the tour for you. But... if you want to learn what the tourist industry leaves out? The hidden, gruesome crimes and punishments? The long forgotten twisted, sadistic characters? The thousands of lives painfully lost in the cruel grip of Edinburgh's past? Maybe you are brave enough to learn the truth. Hear of witches, cannibals, murders, thieves, body snatchers, blood thirsty mobs and the devil in disguise. We will explore haunted graveyards, hide up darkened closes, spit on the Heart of Midlothian and bravely face where Edinburgh believed the world ended. You even get a chance to knock on Bloody Mackenzie's door, if you dare! Madam McKinnon will guide you through our streets under cover of darkness. She's been dead for almost 200 years and does not take kindly to modern nonsense. She will however, crack your sides with laughter over her dry Scottish wit. And her tales will chill you to your core. Our tours are historically accurate, with a history this dark there's no need to fabricate! COVID INFO: During these difficult times, your safety is very important to us. As restrictions in Scotland have eased and the tour is entirely outside, masks are no longer a requirement but welcomed. Please continue to maintain appropriate distancing from our guide and other groups on tour. We thank you for your cooperation.

Mountain & Trail Fitness Training For The Three Peaks
Having guided many guests on the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge over past years, We have been asked many times if we provide training for this. Well now we do! We are extremely pleased to now offer mountain fitness training days based out of Clapham, North Yorkshire. The day starts at 9.30am at Clapham Waterfall with introductions and brief outline of the day’s activities. After a brief warm up, we then walk 2 miles up to the base of Ingleborough where we will go through some short interval exercises, this is based around power walking and using your pulse rate as a guide to training. If you have a smart watch or training watch this is almost a must have. (These are relatively inexpensive now). After a short break we then climb Ingleborough and give advice on the best way to attempt a trail climb at pace with frequent stops. The return part of the decent takes up through the very cool limestone flats where we will again be intermittent power walking as we return back to complete the 9 mile loop. The completion time is really dependent on fitness levels and is entirely open so no pressure to finish. If you don’t see a suitable date, do please send us a request and we’ll look in to adding an additional date for you.
