UNDERSTAND CUBA TODAY WITH A SOCIOLOGIST
**If you cannot book from Cuba, please send me a private message. You can still do our tour. Thank you!
- Is Cuba a socialist country?
- How do free educational and health care systems really work in our country?
- How can we buy basic items in a currency we are not paid?
- How does the black market work in Cuba?
Write down your questions, we will always give you honest answers.
We invite you to understand Cuba once and for all and experience what we experience every day, how our society has changed between generations since the Revolution, let’s talk about our economic and social struggles and how we value being Cubans living on this island, despite our difficulties. We will take you away from tourist places for a while so you can feel part of our people, and understand our daily lives and our mindset. First, we will be walking around Old Havana residential part. We will use local markets, pharmacies, and stores to explain to you the difference between two coexisting systems (private and government-owned). We will also visit a government store (what we call “bodegas”) to learn about the ration food system. Is it free? Is it enough? We will learn about “the black market” and also what a foreign currency store is, a place where almost all Cubans must buy most of their supplies every month. Is it worthwhile to live in Cuba nowadays? Discover it by yourself!

Once there, you will learn about the influence of the Afro-Cuban religions in our cuisine while we share a typical beverage. Then, Jose´s mom will show you how to cook in our local style, having the opportunity to understand when, why, and how we prepare each dish. Finally, we will enjoy tasting the different plates that we prepared and, in that moment, when we are laughing and sharing our personal stories under the rhythm of drums, you will realize that the simple act of eating assumes mystical dimensions and has the power to bring strangers together like family. At the end of the day you will know how flavors, music and dance tell the story of the desires and struggles of our African ancestors. This is not about cooking in a professional way, it´s about cooking according to the folklore of a modest community.

Havana Pub Crawl
Hey guys!!! CHECK THIS OUT!!!
Glad to introduce you The Havana Pub Crawl. This is an Experience who has the mission to show you how it works the BAR LIFE in Havana according to our perspective as Cubans.
We will show you the CUBAN NIGHTLIFE DYNAMICS around the city, we’ll show you different pubs/bars/night clubs around the city, each one with different perspectives, designs and Cuban spirits. We like the LOCALS, the real deal, and the CUBANISM. That’s what we will try to show.
At NIGHT PUB CRAWL we we’ll be hopping for 2.5h into different bars/nightclubs getting into the night life mood by going to the places that we used to go in college, places that are out of the touristic books. Here you will be able to taste our night spirit, from a small bar to dark night clubs where you will be able to show your dancing skills. Get ready for dance!!!
HUGE NOTE:
For Men: NO Tank Tops and NO Sandals.
Discover The Valley of Viñales
We will pick you up at your hotel or casa particular in Havana. We will start a trip until we reach Viñales National Park, first you will meet my cousin; Ariel, who will be his guide. We will visit: El Mirador de los Jazmines, where you can see the most beautiful view of the Valley of Viñales. Then we'll go through the Prehistoric Mural to learn about the history of this place and what the prehistoric paintings represent. We will move to the Indian Cave for a boat ride inside the Cave through an underground river that runs through it. From here, we will head to my family's tobacco farm; by horseback riding or walking we will get there to explore the picturesque Valley of the Silence. We will spend some time here; while the chef makes us lunch; we will show you the crops and meet our animals before visiting the inside of the tobacco house where we will teach you how to make your own cigar and smoke it naturally with a drink or two of rum for Cuban authenticity! We will also try the fresh honey and Creole coffee that is grown in this region. My village is undoubtedly a paradise and will take with it an unforgettable experience.
IMPORTANT
The total price of the tour is 80 euros per person. You must pay 10 euros through Airbnb and 70 euros or 70 USD in cash on the day of the experience.
