First, we will take a short and authentic tram ride to get more into a local mood. Enjoy a cocktail with a story at the best mixology bar in Romania in our opinion, and let their bartenders share the basics “how to’s of drinking” (20% discount for all drinks and bar treats included). A scenic night walk to our next venue passing by the most important landmark in Bucharest by night. Stop over for a short photo session and history lesson. Dinner & drinks with a view over Bucharest by night at a design awarded rooftop restaurant & sky bar, with reasonable prices (10% discount on everything that you order just for being with us) Moving forward to a hidden cocktail speak easy bar inspired from the prohibition times. Access only by password ;) Party at one of the best and active alternative clubs (in our opinion) – bar treats and entrance included The night is short, but Bucharest never sleeps. In case of need we have other hip places in mind. Let us surprise you! Other things to note: There are also options of non-alcoholic drinks. The restaurants have vegetarian and gluten free food options. There will be an approximately 30-35 min walk between venues ( 3,5 km / 2.2 miles). ID is required.
Experience the Communist Dictatorship
In this 3-hour journey, you will learn about the major landmarks and events in the Communist history of Bucharest, the violent beginnings of the Communist regime, the nationalization and forced demolition of thousands of houses, the People's House (currently, the Palace of the Parliament), dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his megalomania, and the bloody anti-Communist revolution of 1989. The experience tells the story of the conflict between two worlds -- a brutalized Bucharest under the Communist regime, and the peaceful and prosperous Bucharest of the interwar period. You will learn about why Bucharest is such a striking mix of very different architectural styles, how each regime has left its mark on the city, how the city looked, and what its inhabitants went through in their daily lives under Communism. You will re-live the emotions of the anti-Communist Revolution and the fall of the Iron Curtain. We'll explore: > Historic Cosbuc and Uranus neighborhoods > Antim Monastery, the Nuns' Convent > The Palace of the Parliament > The former Boulevard of the Victory of Socialism > Former headquarters of Securitate > Revolution Square. Great for groups, as well as for individual travelers.
Bohemian quarters, food & market tour
Ours will be a cultural excursion set around good food, and architecture — just as any food tour should be! I will first introduce you to two of my favorite neighborhoods: The Armenian Quarter and the Jewish Quarter. This area simply screams Bucharest with its multi-cultural history, amazing hidden gardens, and 19th century eclectic architecture. We'll make several stops on the way, including an achingly cool ruin bar for a Romanian platter with a story to tell. We may suggest some great Romanian Craft beer for you to get alongside this spread or traditional appetizers. And because the best way to know a city is through the belly, we'll hop on a vintage tram and journey to the city's liveliest market: Obor. Well hidden inside a brutal communist neighborhood, surrounded by utopian blocks of flats, this very old market truly feeds the soul and gut of Bucharest. Someone told me once that beer makes history better, that's why we'll start our exploring at the nice people of Terasa Obor to get a few tasty and very famous "mici"- Romania's proud meaty contribution to the world of mouthwatering street-food. Vegetarians will not be disappointed either as local cheeses and fresh vegetables will complete this rustic feast. Other things to note Please let me know of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking. Check up on the meeting point before the tour, or else write or call and please be on time. Don't hold back with your questions:)
Bucharest Dark History & Cemetery Tour
Come on over to the dark side...of Bucharest. Travel back in time through stories of a turbulent past and explore the less savory aspects of its history, from the bloody battles fought between Vlad the Impaler and the Ottoman Empire in the Middle Ages, to the "Little Paris" era of the early 20th century, and on to Communist times, undoubtedly one of Romania's darkest chapters. Visit the oldest cemetery in town, a beautiful final resting place with an eclectic collection of funeral monuments ranging from astoundingly beautiful to bewildering, and hear stories that will make your heart melt and your hair curl. Explore a former luxury brothel famous during the golden age of 'Little Paris', and hear stories of famous courtesans who stole the hearts of kings. Find out about our own 'Jack the Ripper', dubbed the 'Vampire of Bucharest', who had a penchant for blonde waitresses and terrorized the city in the early 70s. Finish the adventure in the Revolution Square and learn about the hardships of daily life under one of Eastern Europe's most brutal totalitarian regimes, as well as the struggle of the Romanian people to free themselves from oppression through the Revolution of 1989. Other things to note Not recommended for children aged 16 and under
Bicycle Sightseeing in Bucharest
We meet close to Herastrau Park, in the Press House Square parking. It is a good point to fit our bikes, have a short presentation and start riding. We are visiting Herastrau - the largest garden of the city, then we head south along Victoria Boulevard. We will stop at the Arch of the Triumph, Victoria Square, Revolution Square, Romanian Athaeneum and University Square. Each site has its story and you can take photos. We will continue our trip to the old city center and have a drink on a terrace. Then we are coming back to the starting point, visiting other sites of the city. As we are flexible, we can organize pick up and starting point at your hotel or in another suitable place in the city. Other things to note: Be sure you know how to ride a bicycle. Bring your smile and ask lot of questions, I would be happy to answer.

A day out skiing on the slopes in the woods in Predeal
I'm taking out for a day to ski in the mountains! We leave Bucharest at 7:45 and about 2 hours later we'll be already on the ski slope in our lovely resort, Predeal! As soon as we arrive in Predeal we go to the slope and get you some skis, boots and the rest of the equipment. We go get our ski passes and we start our mountain adventure. To start with, for the first hour on the slope we do some exercises to improve technique and have some fun (level 3 or 4 skiers will get challenges). After that we let slips of paper with the names of the slopes decide which slope we explore next. We have a beautiful mountain (1495m on top) and no less than 6 slopes and 8 ways to go down the mountain ranging from blue slopes to black ones and we can use a ski lift and a chair lift to go back up. I'll take you on the less known and fun slopes in the woods too ;) I'll be immortalizing our fun and I'll send it to you to have a memory from lovely Clabucet. There's also one glass of Mulled Wine/ Tea on me when you feel the need for something hot. A little before 15:00 we'll do our final descent, take the ski equipment back and head to the train station. We'll get on the train and come back to Bucharest and arrive at 17:21.

Cycling tour around Bucharest
Our starting point is Mogosoaia Palace, only 2 km outside Bucharest. It is a good spot for checking the bikes and for deciding upon the route. It is also a good spot for taking photos and for visiting a historical place. We will start riding for a 60 km route. Our route is following asphalted, low traffic roads around Bucharest. We are crossing small villages and crops of corn and rapeseed, but also forests with wildlife (it is very common to spot dear, hawks, pheasants, rabbits or small snakes). On the way we stop for a short lunch in the yard of an ecological educational farm. The average speed will be around 25 km/hour, depending the wind and your fitness level. We will provide road, touring, or gravel bikes for this trip. We will return in the same place. Depending the arrival time, after finishing your tour, you can spend more time in Mogosoaia Park, visiting the old historical Mogosoaia Palace and have a meal in the local restaurant. Other things to note Please contact us in advance if you need additional support for arriving at the starting place or if you need optional transfer from your accommodation place. Important notice about the safety of the trip: By booking the tour, you confirm you know how to ride a bicycle and you will agree with all the conditions and rules communicated by the guide.
