Urban food tasting with Bogota bloggers
We’re Joey & Giovanni, local bloggers behind the website Bogotivo - where we write about the best places to eat, drink, party, and sleep in Colombia’s cool capital city. While one of us is American and the other Venezuelan, we love our adopted home of Bogotá. You can consider us your new friends that are here to help you discover the secrets of the city through experiencing the foods, drinks, streets, people, and culture of Bogotá. Our day will start in the bustling downtown area of Bogotá where we will make our way to a lively food hall to try authentic Colombian Ajiaco, one of the most emblematic dishes from here. Then we will shop for fruit and fresh ingredients at the market that we will use to make mojitos later on and do an exotic fruit tasting. Then we'll take polaroid photos in front of vibrant street art in the bohemian La Macarena neighborhood and then visit our favorite bakery for a special passion fruit dessert. From here we will use public transit like a local to arrive to Zona G, the gastronomic zone of the city, for amazing coffee paired with a Colombian buñuelo. Next we will grab some arepas/empanadas to go on our way to the last stop. Finally, we will head to Chapinero where we live! You’ll be welcomed to our apartment terrace for a mojito-making workshop and exotic fruit tasting while watching the sun go down over the city.

tour of social contrasts in bogota and traditional games
We will take a wonderful walking and bike taxi tour to get to know a unique peculiarity of Colombia: the "social layers", recognizing subtle and not so subtle differences that exist between them. Our country is the only one in the world to classify society through a spatial criteria, and this was evidenced by the BBC of London in a 2021 article titled: “What is the layers, the social impact system that has deeper into classism and inequity in Colombia.” We will also taste a typical dessert of our gastronomy and some native fruits while we observe the daily life of Bogotana. We will meet some traditional games like frog and shuffleboard. I will provide important and unique information that will help you get to know our amazing city of Bogota and its surroundings.
