Pour a glass of wine in a terra cotta-clad kitchen. Enjoy sunset views of Mount Diablo from a cushioned wicker sofa on the garden patio. This airy hideaway draws on the local scenery with rich hardwoods and natural colors to forge its calm tenor. The guest house is quite spacious with a full size kitchen, breakfast bar, dining room table and living room. It can comfortably accommodate four people. A private garden, hammock and firepit are yours to enjoy. If you are here to visit family in the area then it’s a great spot to rest and enjoy the stunning view. We have full cable television. If you are here for work then it’s a quiet spot to focus with your laptop and gigabit internet. If you are visiting as a tourist then there is lots to see and do here. Our favorites include hiking in the Lafayette Reservoir, Briones Regional Preserve, Rock City (limestone formations in Mount Diablo great for hiking and kids), the historic John Muir House, the Lindsey Wildlife Museum, the Ruth Bancroft Gardens. We also love shopping and eating in downtown Lafayette and Walnut Creek. You'll have your own private entrance to a private yard and your own entry way to the guest house. We live in the main house and the guest house is attached. We're available to answer any questions you may have during your stay. We love to meet new people but will also respect your privacy. The home is located in a low-key neighborhood that's just a short walk away from the miles of scenic hiking trails found within Briones Regional Park. Grocery stores, charming restaurants, and shops are just a short drive away. Plenty of parking is available at the house and the neighborhood is walkable. Downtown Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill are all within a 10-15 minutes drive. The Pleasant Hill BART (45 mins to San Francisco) is a 12 minute drive away by Uber/Lyft, Lafayette bart (35 minutes to San Francisco) is 15 minutes away. If outside of rush hour then we are 35 minutes by car to San Francisco, 30 minutes to oakland airport and 45 minutes to San Francisco International airport. If during rush hour then to be safe you should double the journey time or use the BART. Prices for Uber/Lyft to San Francisco generally ranges from $35-55 Our place is great for kids and we have a pack n play if needed
