The lake is sand bottom and perfect for boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Big Bay is a snowmobiler’s dream with access to trails directly from the house. When the lake freezes over ice fishing and snowmobiling are a blast. Less than a mile from Lake Superior and convenience store, you’ll have everything you need !

Enjoy beautiful Lake Independence 25-30 miles NW of Marquette, MI with a 3 bedroom lake cottage right on the southside of the lake with a sandy beach and dock. Pontoon not included, but there is an open boat slip on our dock (mid-June through mid-October). 2 kayaks are included. Some of the best UTV and snowmobiling trails along with backcountry snowmobiling in the U.P. are right in your backdoor. Fish for walleye, perch, pike, and bass on Lake Independence in the summer or winter!
