Private room in Long Beach
Across the Street from Beach Getaway/Near Convention Center
This beautiful modern condo is directly across the street from the beach. Rent a bike for an oceanfront ride in the salty sea air, then sink into the coral armchair with a book for some downtime before getting a taste of Long Beach's vibrant nightlife. This warm-hued getaway is tucked away in a mid-century condo building. You will enjoy peaceful cozy Alimitos Beach and all it has to offer!
NOTE: The host is currently traveling and living in his RV coach. While this is a “shared space,” there is a high probability that he and his corgi dog will not be present during your stay. However there are two co-hosts who live nearby to assist should something come up.
You will enjoy free reign of the whole condo which includes a private bedroom and private bathroom (shower), shared use of kitchen, and living room (so help me keep the common area respectfully clean).
It's business ready with high speed internet. I stay in the other bedroom on the other side of the condo with my own bathroom.
You will find my home a clean and quiet respite from anything you want to experience in beautiful Long Beach!
My condo is a comfortable cozy authentic mid-century condo building. I like to think of the building as a doorway where the past meets modern and contemporary industrial modern style.- it truly is mid-century modern architecture.
I love that I am right across from the ocean. There is a walk/run/bike path on the ocean that I love to visit! If you want to rent a bike, or a scooter (from Lime, Bird, or Razor) it's easy to do... blue bikes and electric scooters are all over Long Beach.
**Sometimes (rarely), I travel out of town last minute due to my job. But don't worry! You will just have the place by yourself, and check in is automated!
Parking is on the street. It becomes a little difficult to find parking in front or beside the condo building every night after 4:00PM. MOST guests find parking nearby. Sometimes, a guest will need to park down the street, and choose to take an Uber ($5-6) to my place... which is cheaper than a nearby hotel garage parking for $30 per night (10 min walk).
I will give you a code to the door and a keyless remote for entrance into the building.
I love having guests in my place. I am the former manager of training for a major cruise line, and hospitality is at my core. I don't think I have ever met a stranger; there is a touch of southern hospitality in me since I was raised in the south. I am gay friendly, live in a very gay friendly and safe part of town, and am open to all who would like to visit. There is no shortage of nightlife in my neighborhood, yet it is quiet.
While I am available as your consummate host, I will also give you your complete privacy. Consider me at your beckon call or a "live in butler" for the time that you are here.
Long Beach nightlife is walking distance, and so are many downtown attractions. The Long Beach Convention Center is walking distance! Also, the Performing Arts Center, Museum of Art, Aquarium of the Pacific, and Queen Mary are all nearby. Located in Alamitos Beach, it's just 3 blocks from gay-friendly Broadway Street filled with bars. Cross the street and ride/run on the bike/jogging track on the beach. Trendy Belmont Shores is a close 5 minutes drive. Disneyland is only 30 minutes away.
Getting around Long Beach is easy. You really should not need a car here! It is certainly a walking and bike town. There are blue rental bikes everywhere! If you don't want to walk, most places are a $5-$7 Uber ride.
2nd street (which is a very trendy area filled with restaurants) is a bus ride away, and the 121 bus picks up and drops off in front of of condo. If you do not have an Uber account, I can help you set that up.
My condo is on the back side of the building; the quiet side. It is a really safe neighborhood and coffee shops and restaurants are in walking distance.
PARKING: Parking is a "social" problem in Long Beach. Those of us who live here understand this. Parking on the street is best if you arrive before 4:00. If you park on the street, please pay attention to parking signs. The city is very strict with issuing prompt citations for parking violators.
