Artist's ZEN & ART house in Kyoto please read Through
SHIRAKAWA YAGI ZEN & ART house Hi my name is Jinn Yagi. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto Japan and owner of this house. Now I have my family living together here in this house which means I can see all the guests and communicate well. This house is used to be one big guest house, but now since this Covid19 world wide situation has happened, I have stopped running the guest house and I started to live here. However I did not want to just quit so I left the good part of this house for future Guest house. Leaving the part of Private Hinoki (Cypress) Bath and I have renovated the one room and made another entrance for the Guests. It has really nice entrance now. So I hope you like the house and stay happy. I have placed Air Virus Cleaner inside the rooms and we do clean and sanitize the rooms every time. I have now two little kids living together as well so you might hear them giggle of cry etc so please understand these concept first before you book this house I love art and I currently am professional photographer and art producer so I really want my guests to love art and photo So the house is located on the hill and it is at east side of Kyoto which is 20mins from downtown 77 years old traditional house. Very sophisticated area, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by the nature with ZEN garden with big Hinoki Bath. Convenient for East area of Kyoto such as world heritage "Silver Temple" and many more. 3miles to Gion main area, 3.6miles to Downtown Suitable for family or couple who loves to relax in a traditional house -The Space- 1 tatami room 2 futons 1 bedroom 2 beds 1 Big Hinoki Bath +Shower 1 Toilet The space we have is Japanese traditional "washitu" with tatami mats, and futon room that is facing the garden. Plus It has Big Hinoki Bath 2: Super Quiet Neighborhood yet still convenient You can hear birds singing. hardly no cars passes yet 24H convenient store and super market is 8 mins walk away. 3: There is Bus to everywhere. Bus to Ginkakuji 5 mins Bus to Kinkakuji 37mins Bus to Downtown 20mins Bus to Kiyomizu Temple 20mins to downtown and walk to GION Bus to Kyoto Station 50 mins Bus and train to Arashiyama 1 hour 4: Really nice Cafe is close Sougen Cafe 5: This area of Kyoto is very expensive area to own the house. it is rare to have airbnb around this area with Japanese Garden -------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 Reasons you might not want to Book Yagi Shirakawa Tei -------------------------------------------------------------------- 1: 20 minutes to Downtown. If you want to go everywhere in one day, you should just book convenient hotel in downtown. It is either you want to stay in the spacious house in peace with quiet neighborhood or small house that can be loud with no sunshine in downtown area. 20 mins to downtown is not that bad. The bus comes every 15-20 mins. 230 yen per ride. 2: Slope to the house is hard. walking down to the main street is easy like 3 mins down but walking up to the house is breath taking. Hard so I recommend to take taxi the first day if you have many luggage. But the view from the house is very nice and since it is remote from the city, its quiet and peaceful. I am sure the guests who chooses this place is more calm guests not in rush. 3. If you dislike nature in the summer, The house is surrounded by nature we live together on earth with animals (dear might show up) and bugs such natural creatures. If you don't like them, I recommend to book a hotel. 4. The House is located in the local residential area. Very local but nice. So There are not many english speaker and there are no english menus in restaurants available accept Tourism area. So Beware for this. If you are not sure, take a picture and send it to me, I will let you know when I can what is written or you can use app to translate ;) 5 now we are living next door You might hear our sounds of kids Also there is no kitchen so if you are thinking about renting long period you might reconsider I will rent out the electric plate etc if you need -------- F A Q -------- Q How to get a key? A Host will be at the house and explain about the house and give you the key If not you can also self check in Please let me know if you want so Q Can I leave the luggage? Yes and No. You can leave your luggage until maybe 2 pm but Usually next guests are coming from 3pm so you have to come back before then. Guests are usually leave their luggage in Kyoto Station because it is a bit far to get your luggages once you left to site seeing into the city. Q How convenient to Downtown? A The Bus comes every 10-20 minutes to Downtown and takes about 20 minutes. Shijo Kawaramachi bus stop. House to the bus stop is about 8-10minutes away Q What is closest bus stop? A Kitashirakawa Bettocho or Kitashirakawa Shibusecho Q How do we get to your house from Kyoto Station? A I recommend to take a Taxi from the Kyoto Station for first time. You can check foreigner friendly taxi Q Can I use the whole house? A Yes. 1day = 1 family or group You will have as much privacy as possible. Q Can I cook in the Kitchen? A There is no Kitchen on guest house side anymore. It has fridge and microwave and kettle Q Is the house safe? A yes it is. you will realize that when you wake up in the morning. it is quite expensive area to own the house in kyoto. Everyone around is nice. Q What is the best way to get to your house? A 1: Take Haruka Train to Kyoto from Kansai airport and then Taxi to my house. 2: Take MK SHUTTLE BUS (please search on Internet) The shuttle bus will take you to my house directly door to door service. It is cheaper than Train + taxi and it goes directly to my house. It is 4200yen per person and they can carry the luggage as well. It takes about 2:45-3 hours. I recommend to reserve one month before for this service. Q is it ok if we arrive late ? A Officially, check in time is from 3pm to 7pm but if you would like to check in later than this, I might not be able to be at the house. If you are ok with self check in I will tell you all the details, but I still need to do explanation of the house so maybe next morning I can ;) Q Can we check in from 11 am? or early check in? Usually No. I am sorry We need to clean the house from 10 am and finish at 3 pm You may leave your luggage and go to site seeing while we clean though but can not stay during cleaning. If you are ok with house is under cleaning I can accept your early check in. Q is the bathtub and beddings are sanitized?
