SHIRAKAWA YAGI ZEN & ART house
Hi my name is Jinn Yagi.
I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto Japan and owner of this house.
Now I have my family living together here in this house which means I can see all the guests and communicate well.
This house is used to be one big guest house, but now since this Covid19 world wide situation has happened, I have stopped running the guest house and I started to live here.
However I did not want to just quit so I left the good part of this house for future Guest house. Leaving the part of Private Hinoki (Cypress) Bath and I have renovated the one room and made another entrance for the Guests. It has really nice entrance now. So I hope you like the house and stay happy. I have placed Air Virus Cleaner inside the rooms and we do clean and sanitize the rooms every time.
I have now two little kids living together as well so you might hear them giggle of cry etc
so please understand these concept first before you book this house
I love art and I currently am professional photographer and art producer so I really want my guests to love art and photo

--------------------------------------------------------------------
5 Reasons you might not want to Book Yagi Shirakawa Tei
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1: 20 minutes to Downtown.
If you want to go everywhere in one day, you should just book convenient hotel in downtown. It is either you want to stay in the spacious house in peace with quiet neighborhood or small house that can be loud with no sunshine in downtown area. 20 mins to downtown is not that bad. The bus comes every 15-20 mins. 230 yen per ride.
2: Slope to the house is hard.
walking down to the main street is easy like 3 mins down but walking up to the house is breath taking. Hard
so I recommend to take taxi the first day if you have many luggage.
But the view from the house is very nice and since it is remote from the city, its quiet and peaceful. I am sure the guests who chooses this place is more calm guests not in rush.
3. If you dislike nature in the summer,
The house is surrounded by nature
we live together on earth with animals (dear might show up) and bugs such natural creatures. If you don't like them, I recommend to book a hotel.
4. The House is located in the local residential area. Very local but nice. So There are not many english speaker and there are no english menus in restaurants available accept Tourism area. So Beware for this. If you are not sure, take a picture and send it to me, I will let you know when I can what is written or you can use app to translate ;)
5 now we are living next door
You might hear our sounds of kids
Also there is no kitchen so if you are thinking about renting long period you might reconsider
I will rent out the electric plate etc if you need

Hut in Nagahama
I rented an earthenware store during the Edo period.Enjoy incense coffee at a cafe (with an old house). ! 古民カフェInnオハナ
We renovated the 2 story earthenware built in the Edo period and made it a guesthouse.
It is not spacious, but there is a kitchen with an IH cooking heater on the ground floor while leaving an earthenware wall or a thick beam.Air conditioner and oil heater are also equipped for a comfortable stay.
You can experience the sound insulation unique to the earthen warehouse, the coolness of summer, and the warmth of winter.
Please enjoy coffee brewed with freshly ground beans at the on-site Kominka Cafe.
10-20 minutes by car, there are Nagahama Taiko Onsen, Sogawa Onsen, Sugatani Onsen, and Ibuki Yuki.Sister River Onsen can provide coupon tickets (at a discount from the general price). For pick-up and drop-off, please contact us.
There are many sightseeing spots unique to Nagahama that have often been the stage of history.
Yiden Castle of Yijiai, Nagahama Castle of Toyosumi Hideji, the birthplace of Ishida Sansheng, the mountain castle and small valley castle of Japan, the land of the meeting, and Mt.It is also less than a 20-minute drive to Sekahara Battlefield.
In addition to the area around Lake Biwa, there are plenty of non-historical pleasures such as Japan's oldest railway station building, Nagahama Railway Square, the Yammer Museum where children can play, and Black Wall Square.
You can also enjoy Omi beef, duck food, baked mackerel noodles, rice noodles, salad bread, ducks, and small ayu.
