Summer paradise by Göta Kanal

Gammalrud is a farm, which is located in the northern part of the peninsula, which goes into Lake Viken and is called Vika forests. Here we conduct forestry and lamb production since 1976. Surrounded by the beautiful forest, lake Viken (the highest point of Göta Kanal) and the hospitality of Thord and Ulla, this is your idyllic home away from home. We have renovated the old farm dairy, "Mejeriet", and made it into a nice home that we rent out to guests. The ground floor consists of a hallway, a kitchen suited for 8 persons and a large living room with a cozy fireplace. The living room floor is made of hand-made bricks from the old brickworks in the nearby village Horn. The upper floor consists of one large room with wooden floor and alcoves for 6 persons. At the old canal landing, we have built a large boathouse. Here is a place, not just for boats, but also for gatherings and parties. If you´d like to go fishing you are more than welcome to rent our small boat to try your luck catching pike, perch or any of the other fish in lake Viken. There is also a sauna in the Boathouse. Gammalrud is a farm dating back to the Middle Ages. A full list of previous owners dates back to 1498. In the 1600s, Gammalrud became a manor when the first corp de logi was built by Thord Jönsson Reuterberg. In the 1800s, Gammalrud became part of the Swedish industrial history by one of the owners, Theodor Winborg, also known as “Ättikskungen” , the founder of Winborg´s vinegar and later by his brother in law, Helge Palmqrantz, an inventor and industrialist with machine factories in Stockholm. Both agricultural tools and weapons were made there. A machine gun, designed by Helge Palmqrantz to be part of the defense on Karlsborgs fortress, can be seen at the fortress museum.

Holidays by the lake Unden

In the middle of West Götalands unspoilt nature with its lakes and forests, near the big lake Vättern, about 5 kilometers from the village of Undenäs and far away from any through traffic, the small country village of Igelstad is located, directly on the lake Unden. The village is a small collection of scattered houses and farms, of which some are permanently inhabited, while others are used as summer cottages. Here, in a large clearing in the forest, the small farm "Nolgården" is situated. The house is a separate, well-equipped classic wooden log house, built in spruce. It was thourougly renovated in 2008. There is a private bathroom, kitchen and private terrace, Internet connection (WLAN) and satellite TV (Astra). A cozy fireplace and electric heating provide comfortable warmth. Directly from the house you can make nice walks in the unspoilt nature, pick berries and mushrooms, or walk to lake Unden, one of the clearest and most pristine lakes in Sweden. From the house to the west side of the peninsula, there is only 800 meters. Here you can have a swim or enjoy the sunset over Unden. The eastern shore can be reached in quarter of an hour via a forest path. By the shore a canoe lies ready for extensive reconnaissance trips to the beautiful deserted islands and quiet bays. But the area has much more to offer: the romantic Tiveden National Park, Lake Viken, Forsvik and the Göta canal with its locks, and the huge lake Vättern are just a few examples of interesting destinations.

Idyllic cottage, 30 sq m, on a private beach, 10 m from the water. Ten minutes from the highway E4 and Gränna. Thirty minutes from Jönköping. One bedroom with a luxury bed for two and one room with a very comfortable foldable bed sofa for two and a kitchen area. Wood stove sauna, bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The host lives in a house about 50 meters further away from the beach. The kitchen is for simple cooking, using a frying pan is not allowed, but charcoal barbecue is available.

Denna härliga stuga ligger några meter från Vänern och har sandstrand, vedeldad bastu och en brygga med vedeldad badtunna för 5 pers. Perfekt även för vinterbad! Utsikten ut över sjön är fantastisk! Stugan är 42 kmv med 2 sovloft, allrum med bäddsoffa, TV, matplats, pentry, kyl/frys, ugn med kokplattor, diskmaskin, wc, dusch och tvättmaskin. Stora glasdörrar kan öppnas ut mot altanen som har gasolgrill, utemöbler och solstolar. Detta är ett lugnt, naturnära boende 15 km utanför Lidköping.

Charmiga Kuskbostaden i Hajstorp vid Göta kanal

Hajstorp är en idyll vid Göta Kanal, c:a 5 km norr om Töreboda. I Hajstorp finns café och vandrarhem och många livsnjutare söker sig hit under sommarhalvåret. I sydvästra änden av Hajstorp ligger Kanalingenjörsvillan som varit tjänstebostad åt kanalingenjörerna mellan 1902 och 1977. Idag bor familjen Lahrin i villan. I en avskild del av den stora trädgården ligger den lilla charmiga kuskbostaden. Den är från mitten av 1800-talet men har varsamt utrustats med toalett och litet kök/pentry.

Mysig stuga nära Nationalpark

Ta en paus och varva ner i denna fridfulla oas. Fin sjöutsikt från stugan och ca 300 m till bad och grillplats vid sjön. Cosy cabin only 10 minutes by car from the famous Tivedens National Park. Amazing view to lake Unden, the largest fresh water lake in Tived. Fantastic to swim in when it's warm in the summer. Amazing sunsets and a very peaceful atmosphere. Romantic. The area straight down from the cabin by the water doesn't belong to the property but welcomes respectful visitors.

Söker ni en lantlig miljö med fantastiskt utsikt över Vättern? Då har ni hittat rätt! Känner inte till många stugor i Sverige där man kan se tre olika län från en och samma plats. Stugan har det mesta då det kommer till bekvämlighet. Fullutrustat kök, bäddsoffa, dubbelsäng och badrum. Därtill wifi och tv med Netflix etc. Utomhus finns ett trädäck med grill, bord samt stolar och utomhuseldstad. Har ni barn i sällskapet finns ytor att springa runt på, gunga samt åka rutschkana.

Välkommen till vår pärla vid sjön Bunn. Här bor ni bekvämt i vårt nybyggda (2019) gästhus. Nedanför huset kan ni bada i sjön eller ta kanoten och utforska omgivningen. Området här omkring är utmärkt för vandring, löpning, cykling eller simning. Vi tipsar gärna om rutter och leder. Stugan är beläget 30 minuter från Jönköping, 10 minuter från Gränna och motorvägen E4. Närmaste allmänna busshållplats är 7 km bort, så vi rekommenderar att ni har bil när ni besöker oss.

Hier findest du Ruhe und Entspannung mitten in der Natur. Ideal zum wandern, radfahren sowie Beeren und Pilze suchen. In der näheren Umgebung [ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuss] findest du Seen und Naturbadeplätze. Bei uns auf dem Hof leben Alpakas, Katzen, Hunde, Gänse, Hühner und Enten. Alpakaspaziergänge können vor Ort gebucht werden. Je nach Laune der Natur können auch Eier gekauft werden.
