We provide an opportunity for people 5 and older to feed, occasionally pet, halter train and a guided walk with Alpaca and Llama! Brewery Tour & Tasting
Learn about the brewing process, Philly's brewing history, Dock Street's 30+ year history, and some of our most memorable beer recipes (Wu Tang Clan beer, anyone?) on this unique tour of our brewing facilities at our flagship Dock Street South. During this, we'll sip-and-savor a flight of 6 fresh beers from our draft list. I will tell you about our recipes, the ingredients, and the inspiration behind our beers. You'll get a Dock Street logo pint glass to take home as a souvenir! Other things to note: - We suggest all guests are at least 21 to have the full experience (i.e., the flight of beers!) Tip/tax included but additional tips are appreciated! No refunds for cancellations with less than 24hrs notice. - Our Airbnb tours are limited to a max of 15 people on the tour, so you'll have plenty of time to hear the tour, get up close and personal with the brewery, enjoy the beers, and have fun!
Artisan Sourdough Bread Workshop
After arrival and introductions, we'll start the process by showing you how to properly slash your dough and get it into the oven. this will allow our first loaves to bake and cool in time for sampling, because who wants to attend a sourdough class and not get to eat any of it? :) Next, we'll begin the process of mixing ingredients, going over the recipe and process. during the periods when the dough will be resting ill conduct a demonstration for a fun live cultured beverage, you can make at home or simply enjoy it during the baking class. Since there is so much time involved in producing a loaf, I'll be moving along with the steps as quickly as we can and spending most of the time between processes answering questions and explaining the why behind the techniques. classes typically last between 3-4 hours so light refreshments will be served throughout the class. You will leave class with, starter, instruction printout, a loaf of bread to bake the next and a bread proofing basket. Other things to note Let me know if you have any food allergies.
Whiskey Walk
Explore Downtown Pittsburgh with a whiskey history tour! You’ll learn why Southwestern Pennsylvania is considered the birthplace of American Whiskey, what the Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh was all about, and how Prohibition affected the region in the 1920s. Scout out hidden former (as well as existing!) speakeasies around the city, and discover how whiskey has fueled political, labor and social movements throughout the region. Get to experience the revival of craft spirits in Pittsburgh and find out about the history of a local and family-owned distillery as well as the first privately owned liquor store in PA. We will begin tour with a variety of whiskey samples and end our walk in a restored Prohibition-era downtown speakeasy. This tour is roughly 2 hours long and approximately 1.5 miles of walking. Please note: a. This is NOT A BAR CRAWL but rather a whiskey history tour with a few tastings. b. This tour begins at 1049 Penn Avenue and ends at The Speakeasy at the Omni William Penn Hotel where locally and regionally produced whiskey will be sampled. c. Every participant will have to sign a waiver. d. Intoxicated Intoxicated people are not allowed on tour. No refunds will be issued in this case.
The Black Journey- Philadelphia Black History Walking Tour
The tour will commence at the Independence Visitor's Center with an introduction to the topic of Black History during the colonial period. You will hear about the role that Black Americans played in the founding of the nation. The group will continue to the President’s House and hear about the 9 enslaved people who were held there. The group will hear about Martha Washington's handmaid who ran away to escape slavery. At the next stop you will see where The Fugitive Slave Act 1793 was passed. The next stop is Congo Square where people of African descent held celebrations. It is also a potter's field where free and enslaved Africans are still buried to this day. The next stop is Mother Bethel AME Church. There is where the African Methodist Episcopal Church was established and is the oldest piece of real estate owned by people of African descent in the United States. You will hear about the liberation of a woman whose owner attempted to abduct her back into slavery and the trial of her rescuers. You will also see the traditional sites of Independence Hall, liberty bell, Congress Hall, and much more Other things to note Masks are required. We will be walking approximately 1.5 miles for the tour on uneven and cobblestoned surfaces. Please wear comfortable and sturdy footwear. We will continue the tour during light rain.

Chef Joshua Spiess discovered his love for cooking at an early age and began his quest working in professional kitchens at age 15. After graduating Johnson & Wales University, he later joined the US Army in which he was a member of the United States Army Culinary Arts Team which competed on the international stage at the World Culinary Olympics/IKA in Erfurt, Germany and two Culinary World Cups in Luxembourg. During his career he has accumulated 17 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals through the American Culinary Federation and World Association of Chefs Societies with 7 best in show. Chef Joshua is a Certified Executive Chef, Certified Judge with the American Culinary Federation and a Certified Food Manager through the International Food Service Executives of America. Chef Joshua holds an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts through Johnson and Wales and Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management through the University of West Florida.  One of his biggest achievements is winning 2010 Chef of the Year and his most recent achievement is being one of the youngest chefs to be inducted into the American Academy of Chefs, which is the honor society of the American Culinary Federation.

Touring Waterfalls of the Finger Lakes
Join me, a Finger Lakes native, to visit some of the best waterfalls in New York! Some we may visit are well known (for example, at Watkins Glen State Park) and others are off the beaten path hidden from view! I'll share with you glacial history of the area, how the formation of the Finger Lakes occurred, and share my knowledge and passion for nature. We will meet at a mutually convenient location, in a public place. From there, you will follow me in your vehicle to the various waterfall locations. We could make 2-5 stops, it really depends on environmental conditions, interest and ability of the group, and how much time we spend at each stop. This is an experience for the bit more adventurous explorer, and you should be prepared to traverse slippery, uneven ground and possibly get your feet wet!

Cow cuddle and destress with rescue brown swiss cows
Cow Cuddling Therapy - Guests will meet and actively interact with docile, loving and affectionate rescue brown swiss cows, oxen and calves. Guests arrive to our Working Farm & Sanctuary, and are given an educational and fun tour by tractor or foot of the 350 acres, where they will be introduced to how humans, cows, the land and nature co-exist harmoniously. After the tour, guests are escorted to our newly constructed cow barn to lay in the comfortable straw with each of the cows as they rest and ruminate. This close contact and touch relieves stress and uplifts the spirit of the cow cuddler. This therapy is known as Koe Knuffelen and is extremely supportive of improved mental health. The experience concludes with a delicious plant-based / vegan meal prepared by the Sanctuary's Culinary Center from produce raised organically on the very same land and/or sourced locally from other farmers. Become a Candlemaking Master
Guests will receive a hands on class in candlemaking. My candlemaking class is unique because I create candles that look and smell like edible foods. Guests will be given a tour of my facility and shown different varieties of candles that I make. Then they will be able to choose which designs they'd like to attempt creating themselves. I will guide them from start to finish on each aspect of creating the candle. Guests will be able to take home their creation and will have completed the class with candlemaking knowledge and experience.

During this session you will be welcomed to create a personalized item to take home that captures a local attraction or family heirloom for a souvenir or a DIY design that is then laser engraved . This session will take place in the host home based business on Vinial Street a block from the popular Penn Brewery. 1) DIY- Send a design you would like engraved onto a keychain or ornament; this option is great if you have a artist or a child or loved one that you want to capture their art/handwriting in a item you will have forever 2) A design session to create a personalized item to take home from your travels. First we will work together to design a family logo, trace a family recipe, or create a unique gift that is Pittsburgh. THEN , we will etch your item in wood, glass , paper, or mirror. These items will be created using a laser to get a perfect representation of the design .

I invite you to Southern Tier Brewery Pittsburgh for a beer tasting. On the tour you will get acquainted with all stages of brewing: visit the crushing workshop, bottling beer into kegs and bottles, the brewhouse and the fermentation workshop. You will learn what chemical processes take place during the production of beer, why a microbiological laboratory is needed and how it differs from a physicochemical laboratory. And at the end of the tour you will try all the currently relevant varieties produced by the brewery! I will tell you all about the production of beer.

I will welcome guests into an after-hours coffee shop. First, we will share our personal experience with coffee. We will take turns telling stories of the first time we had coffee, and what it means to us now. Then, we will learn about coffee! We will learn about different roasts, origins, and preparations. Each phase will include a tasting and discussion portion. Guests will leave with a new appreciation for coffee. They will know the basics to make/find their perfect cup!

Whether you're a first-time thrower or an expert, you are always welcome in our studio. Here we value the freedom to express yourself and all are inspired to create. Our one-time class offers a perfect opportunity to try pottery without committing to a multiple week course. This is a great activity for beginners or people who have no experience with pottery. In your class, your teacher will walk you through the steps of throwing during a demonstration. Then, its your turn! The first piece will be a simple bowl, then we take a break with cookies and coffee. After, you'll get back on the wheel and create your second piece which could be another bowl, a mug, a plate, a hanging planter, etc. Don't worry, your teacher will be with you, and encouraging you, every step of the way! Before you leave, you'll pick your colors, and we will handle the rest from there. Your pottery will be all finished in about 3-4 weeks. Cooking is about love and having fun - my cooking theme is (Cook, Eat, Drink and HAVE Fun!!) I would show you step by step of making dumplings, you will be provided with a cutting board, and a knife. You have hands-on experience. I will show you the key ingredients of making the dumping fillings and explain the secrets, also show you the cutting, and chopping techniques that would make difference in the taste.
