The Rafters

Experience a little country in the city. Originally a family owned feed store, The Rafters has exposed hand built rough cut rafters in the ceiling, original wood floors and a tin roof. Horses, chickens and other farm animals are on the property as well. Southern Arkansas University (SAU) is five minutes away. The historic square which is home to the annual Magnolia Blossom Festival World Championship Steak Cook Off and local shops and restaurants are just a three minute walk.

The Blue House on Cross Lake

This cottage was built circa 1930 on Cross Lake as the home for Lonnie Erwin who owned a catfish restaurant next to his home. Back in the day it was popular to drive up from Shreveport if they caught enough catfish to serve. The restaurant closed in the mid 1940s and it and the cottage fell into disrepair. We renovated the cottage and restaurant (also on Airbnb as The Red House on Cross Lake) and brought them up to date.
