Go to the mountains with local guides

Sunrise from the summit of Helvellyn
After meeting we will discuss the day ahead, check equipment and ensure we have everything needed for a safe ascent of Helvellyn. With head torches switched on we will begin our climb of Helvellyn. On a good but rocky mountain path we will zig zag up bracken covered slopes until we reach the subsidiary peak of Lower Man. We will then follow the ridge to the summit of Helvellyn. We will arrive at the summit just before dawn as the dark fades and a golden light bathes the far reaching views. From our lofty perch we will see the sun burst over the horizon, rise in to the sky and transform the landscape. Illuminated mountain slopes will glow with colour, deep shadows will highlight shape and form and we will feel the warmth of the new day. There will be plenty of time for photographs, a hot drink and snack before we begin our descent. During the day we will hear about local tales and legends, discuss mountain features and look at the wildlife. Providing you with a rich and memorable experience.

Malham Cove Circular Walk
Taking in Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss, join us on another one of Britain’s favourite and iconic walks in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Have you ever scrambled up a waterfall? If not, then this is your opportunity to have a go at something different! Don’t worry, it’s only very short and your mountain leader will be with you to help and encourage you should you need them. We start at the popular walkers destination of Malham, a lovely old village mentioned as far back as the doomsday book and shortly make our way to the first feature of this incredible walk, the beautiful Janet’s Foss waterfall, reputedly named after the queen of the fairies! After taking a short break and taking some photographs to capture the moment, we head on towards the magnificent Gordale Scar. Formed over successive ice ages by glacial meltwater carving it deeper and deeper into the hillside and leading to the collapse of several small caves, we are now left with this unique feature that has attracted so many people here over the years. After a short and exhilarating scramble up it’s waterfall, we continue our way up and round before stopping for a break on the bank of Malham Tarn. We continue our circular walk taking in the variety of fauna and other wildlife before reaching the unique and memorable geological feature which is Malham Cove.
Mountain & Trail Fitness Training For The Three Peaks
Having guided many guests on the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge over past years, We have been asked many times if we provide training for this. Well now we do! We are extremely pleased to now offer mountain fitness training days based out of Clapham, North Yorkshire. The day starts at 9.30am at Clapham Waterfall with introductions and brief outline of the day’s activities, covering rock scrambling techniques, high trail pulse based interval training and steep ascents and decents to a maintained pace. After a brief warm up, we then walk 2 miles up to the base of Ingleborough where we will go through some short interval exercises, this is based around power walking and using your pulse rate as a guide to training. If you have a smart watch or training watch this is almost a must have. (These are relatively inexpensive now). After a short break we then climb Ingleborough and give advice on the best way to attempt a trail climb at pace with frequent stops. The return part of the decent takes up through the very cool limestone flats where we will again be intermittent power walking as we return back to complete the 9 mile loop. The completion time is really dependent on fitness levels and is entirely open so no pressure to finish. If you don’t see a suitable date, do please send us a request and we’ll look in to adding an additional date for you.

Meditate with horses
A brief but inspiring discussion on meditation and why we do it with horses will motivate you to be dedicated and vigilant in your practice. Then we go and meet the horses and I will teach you the basics in animal meditation. Then we groom the horses; this is the best way to get the horses to accept you as herd members as they bond by grooming each other. As we start to meditate, the more stable, connected and balanced the client, the easier it is for the horse to step into his role of soothing, regulating, teaching and inspiring with his gentle and peaceful energy. Often the horses will lie down and we can get down on the grass with them and be close and connected. We work on touching the horses in specific areas and watching for significant reactions to detect connection. There is often an opportunity to test your connection by asking the horses to follow you without a lead and then you can take a little walk together. We often finish with a beautiful guided meditation which will be chosen depending on the specific needs of the client. We always end the session with gratitude and a big horsey cuddle. Other things to note In the summer there may be flies. Bring sun hats and sun cream. Wrap up warm and water proof on winter and please wear wellies or firm boots. No experience of horses or meditation needed but please arrive with an open heart and an open mind.
The Lake District Bank Fishing Experience
I want to bring my guests a fishing experience here in the Lake District. If you're staying at Ullswater or Windermere, I can tailor an experience just for you! It can be hard to find locations and can be tough to have knowledge on good locations and going with someone else can really enhance someone’s fishing experience especially when fishing remote tarns and lakes! I specialise in Trout and Perch fishing in the tarns and lakes of the Lake District both on fly and on spinner/lure! This can be tailored to your desire and we can fish both those hard to reach spots for the adventure angler, or we can take a more relaxed approach for the casual angler! All guests must have UK Freshwater rod licenses applicable for the type of fishing we are doing. Rods and tackle can be included but you’re free to bring your own! 1) We will meet at the Fishing Spot (Provided in advance) 2) We will fish throughout the day trying various spots adopting a mobile approach until we find the fish! 3) We will target both Perch and Trout using a variety of soft and hard baits. 4) All information will be provided upon booking. If you're a fisherman and want to have a true Lake District Experience then this is the thing for you! I can also point you in the direction of Pike Fishing, but will need sufficient notice to make this happen.
