⭐ Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike
We will be hiking up Lions Head, Cape Town's most Instragram'able hike. We plan to either catch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean or sunrise from the Hottentots Holland mountains. We enjoy some amazing photo opportunities before our descent. During a sunset hike, we descend in the dark using our flashlights (provided). During a sunrise hike, we may hike the first part in the dark using our flashlights (provided). This hike has been an age old tradition for locals especially during the full moon and on clear/windless nights/mornings where the lights of the city below dazzle and the moon and stars show off its beauty in the night sky. Other things to note Wear clothing you are comfortable hiking in. Ensure you wear descent pair of hiking/walking shoes. A fair level of fitness is required. You need to be comfortable with heights. Start times vary based on Sunset and Sunrise and it is critical that we start on time in order to witness Sunrise/Sunset
Hike Table Mountain with a Guide
We will hike to the summit of the iconic Table Mountain and experience why it's one of the New7Wonders of Nature. We will take our favorite more easily missed paths to the top. There are many routes that go up and together we will find one that suits your skill and confidence level. The trails all include a combination of hiking, varied levels scrambling and exposure to heights that will allow us to reach incredible viewpoints of Lion's Head, Twelve Apostles, Camps Bay, Back Table, and the Mother City. If you have a specific route in mind we can help you determine if it is suitable for you. The trails we do include India venster, Kasteelspoort, Skeleton gorge, and platteklip gorge but if possible and you are able we can do some more wild options. En route, we will take you into the world of the breathtaking Fynbos Floral Kingdom and the very first occupants of Southern Africa who named the mountain 'Hoerikwaggo' or Mountain in the sea. Once we reach the summit we will go to one of the awesome viewpoints to take some summit photos or just enjoy the view from the top. If the Cable Car Station is open then the hike will finish there, where you can then spend some more time at the top and soak in some more views or go and enjoy a well-deserved treat from the restaurant, my recommendations being their coffee, cold beer, appletiser, and milk tart. Other things to note Experience duration is dependent on the route and guests fitness and should take between 3-5 hours. The experience ends at cable car, if its closed then please add another 1-2 hours for the hike down.

Adventurous Table Mountain Hike with Justin
Pull on your trail shoes and join me, Justin Hawthorne, for an epic day hiking and scrambling up the iconic Table Mountain, a "New 7 Wonder of Nature" and truly unbeatable Cape Town experience! This is an incredible off-the-beaten-track hike with breathtaking views & scenery but it is demanding in terms of being strenuous (760 m / 2500 foot elevation gain), some exposure to heights (sheer vertical drops) & technical hiking (using your hands to scramble rock pitches, and rugged trail) - that's where I as a guide add peace-of-mind in walking you through the adventurous spots. During the hike we'll discuss the local fauna & flora that occurs here. Some days we'll get treated to wildlife sightings such as the infamous Himalayan Tahr, a charismatic Caracal or an agile Klipspringer, but the focus will be on the world-renowned vegetation covering the mountain slopes - FYNBOS! This is a nature experience where you will have the chance to come away with a good understanding of the rich biodiversity found within the Cape Floristic Region - a UNESCO World Heritage Site in itself. After reaching the flat topped summit we will descend via cable car (R220 per person), or if it is not operating due to high wind we will have to hike down an alternate route. If an immersive nature-focused mountain adventure is what you're looking for, this is the hike for you!
Meditation & Creative Hike Cape Town
Join me for a mountain hike where we'll learn about the smallest but most diverse floral kingdom in the world - Fynbos. Bring your journal along for some sketching and poetry exercises (no pressure). We will practice walking meditation and co-create natural mandalas. Mindfulness, breathing techniques, Qi Gong and Goethean observation enrich our experience. Don't worry, no prior experience required. I'm used to working with all ages and interests, so adapt to your needs. You don't have to be shy -- I'm easy going and just love sharing this beauty with others in a way that allows you to really connect. Take it all in - the gorgeous vistas of the Fairest Cape in all the World - while making peace with your inner landscape. Other things to note We can tailor this experience to your needs -- duration & difficulty -- for example we can do a child-friendly version and a wheel-chair friendly option. I am willing to go ahead in all weather if it suits you.
Fynbos hike at Silvermine
This is a wonderful opportunity to hike in a quieter area with unparalleled views of the central Cape Peninsula & Hout Bay from Noordhoek Peak! All the while you'll be hiking with a literal Silvermine local - we actually lived within the National Park in what's known as the Silvermine Valley. This area was Justin's childhood turf & Mark's office where the mountains were an extension of our garden. We'll spend the morning (or afternoon) hiking a circular trail through diverse mountain Fynbos (pronounced: fain - boss) in the Silvermine section of the Table Mountain National Park. The emphasis is on looking at the details of the unique biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom & we'll be stopping as we hike to chat to you about the different floral species we see within the Fynbos Biome. We'll walk you through just what makes Fynbos, Fynbos! Depending on the time of year you may see anything from beautiful little blue orchids to magnificent giant pink proteas. Wildlife is shy however we'll listen to the beautiful sounds of frogs and birdsong, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a small mammal. Our hike is on standard trails, so it's for all levels (family friendly) & we'll cover around 7km at an easy pace. In the warmer summer months bring swim gear as you may want to jump into the recreational Silvermine Dam at the end of the trail (when doing the morning schedule) - reinvigorating!

Bo-Kaap : Walk with a local
We start the tour at 71 Wale Street where we discuss the origins of the oldest suburb in South Africa. Our walk then takes us past the Auwal Mosque, which is the oldest mosque in South Africa, which was started by enslaved people in defiance of Dutch law, in 1794 . We stop along the way and grab a koesiester, before walking down the street with all the colourful houses. This is the most-photographed street in South Africa. We then work our way towards Cape Town’s famed spice shop, Atlas, where you will smell the heady aromas of spices used in everyday Cape Malay cooking. These are the same spices used by slaves as an expression of freedom in their masters’ kitchens.
