Why locals recommend it
This destination izakaya in the East Bay has yakitori and a good selection of noodles like soba. What I like is the tatami floor—you get to sit on woven mats with your friends around a table, which is very comforting. Take off your shoes, and it’s like you’re sitting around hanging out with friends at a Japanese restaurant. I like to get their soba, and I like ordering their yakitori—I order just about everything there. They even have chicken sashimi! I definitely need to go back and get some.

it feels like japan. yakitori is their specialty, but there are plenty of other japanese delights. notice the fine japanese woodworking details and ceramic everything. spectacular vibe. we go here on special occasions.
