The loft overlooks the downstairs living area which has an open living room, dinning area, and kitchen. The second bedroom and bath are located on the first floor. Granite, slate, and soapstone accentuate the countertops, vanities, and floors. You will also see plenty of natural pine, hickory, and local cedar throughout the house.

The main room hosts a double-size, comfortable futon couch, a dining table for four or more, a fully equipped kitchen providing all the basic amenities. The loft (up a ladder) hosts a super-comfy queen-sized bed. There is a small stone patio with an outdoor dining table with umbrella and a barbeque grill.

Merlin's Cabin at Stone Mountain Farm in New Paltz

Merlin's cabin is built on a favorite spot on our farm. Its placed up on a little ridge along a quite walking path. Its rustic and built with a lot of love. There is NO RUNNING WATER or ELECTRICITY, but we set up a comfortable camp kitchen with large jugs of water that flow into a sink and some candles, although do bring your own also and a flashlight. There's a clean outhouse nearby and loads of privacy. It is our favorite place to go for a romantic weekend or artist retreat in nature.
