Explore Turda Salt Mine, Transylvania
Turda Salt Mine it’s probably one of the most important and interesting places to see in Transylvania and one of the most visited sights in Romania, located within 120 meters depth below the sea. Turda Salt Mine was placed by Business Insider at the top of their list of the ten “coolest underground places in the world”. This experience will start in Cluj-Napoca with a 30 minutes public bus ride to Turda, near the Salt Mine. After a short walk the magic will happen, when we enter in the underground. The Salt Mine is a genuine history museum of Salt exploitation where history and futuristic elements meet, all in a very healthy micro-climate. In addition, the Salt Mine gives the opportunity to present you the only underground Ferris wheel in Europe and we will have the advantage of the healthy salt therapy. The excellent condition of the mining compartments and the equipment used for salt transportation have turned it into a place of mingled history and legend. We will also visit together the city center of Turda before we travel back to Cluj-Napoca. Other things to note This is a medium difficulty walking tour designed for all ages, including children. We will take a bus from meeting point until the experience point. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. Public Transportation costs and Salt Mine access ticket are not included (12 EUR in Romanian exchange)
Learn To Ski / Snowboard In A Day In Poiana Brasov
Spend one day on the ski slopes of Poiana Brasov or Sinaia (depending on snow conditions): 1. I'll pick you up from your location early in the morning and will drive you to the ski resort (25-minute drive). Fact: If you're in the resort we meet at a pre-discussed meeting point. 2. I'll help you rent the appropriate ski / snowboard equipment. Before the experience, we'll discuss your skiing level and I'll recommend you the appropriate slope for this experience. This helps us determine the nearest and best rated rental shop. 3. We'll hit the slopes close to opening time, making sure that we avoid crowds and have the best skiing conditions. I will provide a 2-hour long ski /snowboard lesson to introduce you to this sport, provide exercises for faster learning. Tips and exercises will be tailored to your current skiing level. P.S: For mixed groups I'll be joined by a colleague and we'll split skiers and snowboarders from the group as well as beginners from advanced. 4. After the lessons you can remain on the slopes and practice on your own, or extend your ski lessons in the afternoon (extra charge). 5. At around 5pm we'll drive together back to Brasov, or you'll return to your hotel (if you're accommodated in Poiana Brasov.) Fact: I can help you with ski pass purchase (to avoid queues) and ski clothing in case you travel without them.
Horseback riding Cluj surroundings
You will need to get to the farm by car, rental or taxi, as it is situated in a remote corner of the city premises. After your arrival and a short introduction you will get a helmet and have a familiarization tour with the horse. If this is your first horseback riding experience, don't worry, all the basics will be presented at your own pace. After everybody is saddled in, we will start our out of the ordinary and relaxing experience to the top of Cluj. This is an outdoor tour and we will be riding thru the hills and forests above Cluj and admire unique views. The ride circuit lasts about two hours but you should allocate at least three hours, as life at the farm is not always working around the clock.
Hiking with a white husky to the Brasov sign
Our hike will last about 2.5-3 hours and the difficulty is medium. We'll start our adventure from the base of the mountain. First I will jump and wiggle my tail around you for about 5 minutes after that I'll start exploring the forest. Meanwhile Sorin will guide you and tell you interesting things about this amazing place. We will reach the Gaboni steps where I will run tireless by your side trying to catch every leaf that moves. After we finish climbing the steps(about 1 hour) we'll reach a clearing that's perfect for a longer break and a photo session. After that, the trail will take us to the giant letters "BRASOV" that can be seen from downtown. There we'll enjoy amazing landscapes with the old town and beautiful mountains on the background! We will return on the classic trail back home satisfied and full with positive energy. Other things to note: The address for the meeting point is Pictor Pop 2. If you use the map feature directly from Airbnb, the directions may be incorrect. If you are on a tight budget message me and we will find a solution. Dante doesn't like children so it's not a good fit for them. The experience may be postponed or canceled (full refund back) if there are bad weather conditions. The terrain is rocky, steep stairs and climbs and potentially slippery conditions depending on weather. I recommend you to bring long pants.
Libearty Bear Sanctuary Zarnesti Trip
Our Small-Group Trip to Libearty Bear Sanctuary from Brasov will take you from the city to Libearty Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti. The guide will take you to the Sanctuary, there you will meet the guide from the Sanctuary which will take you inside and explain to you what is happening in this awesome place. The tour with the guide from the Bear Sanctuary takes about one hour and represents a walk along a forest path of approximately two kilometers. This way, you will discover the stories of the bears that are now living in the sanctuary, the purpose of this place and you may ask questions. Over 100 brown bears saved from captivity or cruel conditions found a new and safe home in the 60 hectares sanctuary from Zarnesti, the largest of this type in Europe. The recommendation is to buy the tickets online for entrance at the earliest tour(9 AM or 10 AM, depends on season), please inform us at what hour you bought them. The bears’ want to tell you something: This is not a zoo! It’s our forest. Please respect it! Do not throw us food, because we don’t need it! Do not use the flashes! They bother us! Do not eat or drink in front of us! It’s rude! NOTE: Children under five years are not allowed on the tour, for safety reasons. We will notice you at what hour to be in front of your hotel. Please be on time
Cocktail workshop with mixology champion
We will start the workshop with learning all the basics: the necessary utensils to make a cocktail and how we can adapt them into our own kitchen; the logic of how to create a base cocktail (ex. Daiquiri, Mojito, Old Fashion, Negroni); the logic of combining flavors and the logic of using utensils. Then we will create our own signature cocktails together. You will also get to enjoy the cocktail you create and we will have a bonus tasting of some local artisanal "Palinca" (Romanian national spirit). Finally, you will also get some tips and tricks about cocktails and food pairing. The duration of the experience is somewhere between 2 and 3 hours. Other things to note We will consume alcohol, so please announce if you're not 18 years old (you can still do the workshop, but with non-alcoholic cocktails). Don't plan to drive afterwards. Please let me know in advance if you have any food allergies I should be aware of.

Hiking in the Carpathians-private tour
This private hiking trip is a great opportunity to explore Piatra Craiului National Park in the Carpathian Mountains, an area pretty much untouched by the 21st century. Trek past gorges, forests and pastures where mountain shepherds still work, and see a side of Romania that's hardly changed in generations. Hike among the spectacular Carpathian Mountains on a guided, private-group tour of Piatra Craiului National Park from Brașov. Follow the classic routes on a 6- to 7-hour hike through alpine meadows, fragrant forests that seem untouched by time. See the cavernous Zarnesti Gorge, and learn about the traditional rural industries of cheese-making and shepherding. Refuel with hearty Romanian lunch at a mountain hut. Route may be changed without notice due to weather conditions. The name of the mountain came from one of the citadels built by the Hungarian Kingdom, as a custom, control and protection point, at the southern border of Transylvania, at the bottom of the mountains, at the end of XIV century. The name of the highest peak (2238 m) is called Piscul Ciobanului or Piscul Baciului - Shepherd's Peak in English language and Hirtenspitze in German language. The locals called the mountain The Stone (Piatra). The main ridge is regarded as one of the most beautiful sites in the Carpathians. Best period: May - October! January - March is ok, because of the snow.
