On this walking tour of London's streets we will watch clips from the movies while I regale you with behind-the-scenes stories of those locations and how they were used in the film series. Our first stop will be the entrance to Diagon Alley, before we pop down to see the Ministry of Magic, and find out which Leaky Cauldron has the best tacos, as well as others I don't want to spoil here. I will also share some of the strangest, funniest non-HP facts I've learned about London along the way. We will finish at Borough Market, London's top street food destination, with King's Cross just a separate Tube ride away. PLEASE be aware the tour is offered in English only, and it is largely story-based, so a better-than-basic conversational grasp of English is essential. Along the way we'll find out what lies beneath our feet, what lurks above us, and the incredible stories associated with London's past. Discover the location of the city's smallest and cutest sculpture, hear about what was discovered when building the Gherkin, search for the Roman building inside a shop, get overwhelmed by the number of dragons staring down at you, find the place where the first coffee was sold in London, stumble across a piece of the original London Bridge and finishing on a high, you'll stand in the remains of one of our most magical hidden gardens. This is one magical walk! Other things to note I'll be easy to identify - remember I'll be waiting outside the Dowgate Hill exit of Cannon Street Station with a blue coat/shirt and a flag!
Visit the British Museum with an archaeologist
#Please note: the Rosetta Stone is currently not on display in the general galleries (visited on this tour) until spring 2023# With over 80 000 objects on display, the British Museum can be overwhelming to visit. Join me, an archaeologist, on a tour of my favourites from among the most famous and the slightly more neglected objects in display! We will start the tour by exploring the interesting history of how the museum came to be, and how it got filled with millions of objects during its over 250 year old history. We will then look at two different ancient scripts, the Egyptian hieroglyphs and the Mesopotamian cuneiform, and focus on a handful interesting objects these were written on to see what they tell of their respective regions. Next, we will turn towards ancient Assyria and Egypt, and look at how the rulers used art and architecture to show off their power. We will finish with my speciality, ancient Greece. Here we will discuss Greek myths and how pottery informs archaeologists about the ancient past. The tour will finish with the Parthenon marbles, and we will discuss not just the ancient monument, but also its role in a debate on who cultural heritage belongs to. The tour lasts 3 hours, with a coffee break inside the museum.

The British Museum is a fascinating but also challenging place to visit.. the sheer number of artefacts and stories to discover can be quite daunting. It would be an honor to walk and talk about all this together on a two hour tour. We'll explore the items from: - Deities and warrior kings from Mesopotamia - Statues and mummies from Egypt, including the Rosetta Stone - Gods and temples from Greece - Roman artwork and armours - Anglo-Saxon and Viking hoards - African bronzes - Destroyed temples from China and India - Aztec blood rituals ...and many more fascinating bits of history!

Discover London Secret Bars
By joining us, you agree to our ethos that 'Secrets are meant to be shared not revealed'. Ideal for solo travelers, groups or couples. Come one come all :) Follow us into London’s historic streets as we discover secret bars often unknown to travelers and locals. The bars we will visit have hidden passages, some require passwords for entry whilst others can only be accessed by appointments only. We will travel back in time to charming speakeasy bars, tasteful 1960s decor, unique themes, dim lights, and enjoy quality cocktails that also experiment with taste and textures. Some of the bars we will visit have exclusive cocktails that have been designed to experience the history of cocktails through time. (Ask us about this, trust me you'll like to try it after you join us). Come explore something different with me and my friends. We provide a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. Please note that drinks are NOT included. *PRIVATE BOOKINGS & ALTERNATIVE DATES ARE AVAILABLE: Feel free to get in touch!*
