Perfect for anyone looking to get away from it all and for those looking for something different, the quirky interior of the Lodge is an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. It offers a romantic hideaway, with exclusive use of the brand new hot tub jacuzzi directly outside your door, and a low height mezzanine sleeping area on a futon mattress, in the double height roof where you can star watch in bed, listening to the local owls. The fully equipped, open plan kitchen/lounge area is cosy in the winter with underfloor heating, and equally delightful in the summer when the bi-fold doors can be opened up to enjoy BBQ's on the deck. With Wifi access, Bose mini sound system, Nespresso coffee pod machine and a flat screen TV, you can also keep in touch with the outside world if you really want to. The Lodge is perfectly located for those who want a car free holiday in the corner of our 1.5 acre garden, about 60m from the main house. Please note that while the Lodge is completely private the hot tub area is not, as you are in the garden shared with our house. A short walk will take you to the ancient village green of Bearsted with its Butcher / Deli / Bakery and a choice of excellent restaurants. For those wishing to take the train, the village station provides services to the coast or to London, to give you transport choices. 5 minutes by car will get you to the award winning Leeds castle, while a 40-60 minutes drive will take you to the many beautiful historic towns of Kent including Tenterden, Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, as well as the beautiful Kent coast line and the EuroTunnel. Perfectly located for weddings and celebrations at the award winning Orangery in Maidstone, why not make a holiday out of your stay? Subject to availability The Lodge can be booked in conjunction with it's sister property 'Knocklofty', a one minutes walk away and can accommodate up to 4 people. Parking for two cars comes with the Lodge, with a walk across the grass. Bearsted train station is a 10 minute stroll from the Lodge with access to London or the coast in 1 hour. The EuroTunnel is a 30 minute drive away making the Lodge a perfect stopping off point in and out of Europe. We like to greet our guests when they arrive. We are available if there are any questions, but leave them to enjoy the peace and quiet. Embrace country life in the medieval village of Bearsted in Kent—the Garden of England. Walk to the village green for great gastro pubs, a butcher, and a deli. For a proper hike, there's beautiful countryside with miles of scenic walks. Bearsted train station provides easy access to London and the seaside. Free WiFi and a smart TV, as well as a Bose sound system, allows you to keep in touch with the outside world. Sleeping is on a futon mattress on the Mezzanine. The headroom is restricted and there are no blinds on the velux windows.
