Rail bike adventure
How about cycling on abandoned rail tracks, enjoying the scenery, the unique view of the Saronic Gulf, and stories about the mythical Skiron and the German machine guns of World War II in the famous Kakia Skala near Megara? We offer the unique experience of riding specially designed pedal-powered railroad carts, on the vintage metric railway that used to connect Athens with the Peloponnese, through a region of unrivaled beauty and great history, from antiquity to the present day. First, you will be informed about the route and what you are about to see, as well as the contribution of the railway to the industrial history of the area. Then you will sit comfortably in your seats, after a short demonstration of how to operate the pedal-powered railroad cart, which is stabilized by four wheels on rails and therefore does not require balance or any other skills. The railbikes are completely safe, and in terms of speed, they are the same as conventional bikes. The length of the route is 7.5 km, 15 km in total including the return to Megara, and it is really easy. There will be stops along the route, during which the member of our crew will answer any questions you may have. Stops take place at selected locations with benches and stunning views.

Mythology and Philosophy in Symposium
Philosophy for me is...to walk and talk!! It's a mythological tour, like...going into a time macchine, abandoning in this mythological narrative living path...experiencing it as a representation ! So...from the springs of Ancient Lerna (now Myloi) to the river delta. Where ''Lerna Hydra'' was living...a huge snake with nine heads. This snake was causing huge damage to the area. Only Hercules (the second legendary Labour of the 12) was able to kill it. What was going on, in the position of each head cutting by Hercules, two more were falling out. So he thought that when he was cutting each head to burn immediatly it with fire and came out no more. That's how the legend stayed! Then from this mythological river of Ancient Lerna we will walk...to visti the older harbor with the lighthouse ...a huge trading hub from the 1889, to Argolikos, the Aegean and the Mediterranean! Then moving towards it the most famous Greek railway Station in the Peloponnese and in Greece... the old Mill Station since 1882...with trains and engines machines, charcoal pumping stations...as ever! An outdoor museum, in essence!!! Finally, we will end up at the older house of Myloi (stone made by my bis grandfather in 1806) the CASA LELA, to enjoy the worthy chef Antonella (my wife) variety with Ouzo. Because Philosophy without a Symposium does not exist!! Other things to note, Is important...respecting
Hiking around Navarino Bay
Our hike starts from Divari beach near Gialova. We follow the path around the lagoon where we get the opportunity to witness a unique and sensitive ecosystem. Here, migratory birds such as herons, flamingos and ospreys live which may have the opportunity to observe. We cross the dunes until we reach the famous omega shape beach of Voidokoilia. A refreshing swim into its turquoise waters is an option. On the way to Paleokastro fort we stop to explore the cave of mythical king Nestor. At the top of the hill we explore the medieval castle and learn about the intense history of the region. Here, the beauty and uniqueness of the landscape reveals breathtaking vistas hard to believe it's true. After tasting a healthy picnic, we descend the way back.
Tasting Wines made from old varieties
Wine tasting. The venue is situated in the lower town, well off the beaten track of commerce and congestion. The visitor who ventures down to us is by definition of a more enquiring mind, wanting to see more than just another row of tourist shops. So there is natural filtering and the people who come down to us are already open to new experiences. The program. I start by telling something about the history of Monemvasia and of course its famous wines. The wine tasting covers 5 wines: 1. I start with a dry white wine, a Kydonitsa, a very local and wonderful variety, accompanied by some locally made rusks and homemade “bruschetta”. 2. The next is Kastropolitea, a dry white wine, soft and fruity. 3. The third wine is again a white dry, very mineral: the Assyrtiko accompanied by cucumber slices topped with cheese and aromatic herbs. 4. The fourth wine is a dry Rose: our Fileri, an aromatic, delicate wine. 5. The fifth is a dry red: our Maleati consisting of two varieties, the Agiorgitiko originating from the center of the Peloponnese and the Mavroudi, a strong, rich in tannins local variety accompanied by a warm potato topped with cheese and aromatic herbs. In this way, we have made many friends and I am confident that we have helped to promote our local wines and Monemvasia in general. In summary: local wine history, 5 wines, plus finger food dishes. Other things to note Just a short 3 1/2 hours drive away from Athens you will find one of the wonders of the world: Monemvasia. Look up “Municipality of Monemvasia” to experience a small taster in images; also “Monemvasia, a journey with Jamie Logan”.Monemvasia is an ideal weekend getaway.
