Farmhouse with garden and terrace with view

The fascinating, over 200 year old house in S. Andriu offers pure peace and relaxation. On the seat in front of the house, in the garden or on the terrace, also from the living room, the view is magnificent. The beautiful old wood pastries in the living room, the cozy kitchen-living room, the quaint soapstone oven, the rather steep wooden staircase to the bedrooms, everything is a bit different in S. Andriu. You are away from the everyday, and if it becomes too quiet and idyllic for you, the nearest town is close.

In 2004 I got the chance to design my own family's week-end house in the village Pigniu. This fabulous place at 1300 meters above sea in the Surselva Region of Graubünden province, above the Town Ilanz, was well-known to me, for my parents owned an old farmhouse until the 1980ies here. The Spiral shaped chalet has the form of a band, changing outward material from concrete in the base to wooden shingles in the upper floor. The house is designed to connect us to the landscape we love.
