Bats & Skyscrapers on Segways, oh my
It's bat season y'all! That's right, one of Austin's most popular attractions from Mar - Oct is watching our Mexican free-tail bat population take flight each night. This Segway experience is the perfect activity for transitioning from day to night in Austin and we'll get as close as you want to view the bats as the finale. Segway training takes place before dark then we'll cruise to some key vantage points for watching the sun set on Austin's amazing skyscrapers. As the city comes to life, we will fill you with interesting facts and quirky details about why almost 27 million people visit Austin each year. Cruising down the 2nd St. shopping district is a highlight of this trip, making a visit to Willie Nelson's bronze, life-size statue. TIME PERMITTING: A stop can be made to go inside Austin's newly built Central Public Library: a state-of-the-art facility and a true testament to our city's creative & technological environment. Because the bats are in fact wild, live creatures, some elements of nature beyond my control can, from time to time, affect their flight. Some are heavy/recent rains, high winds, cold temps, too bright or too loud conditions due to construction or a nearby concert. This may cause less bats to take flight or they may come out later (outside of the experience window). These circumstances are rare, but must be understood.

Austin Unlocked- A Speakeasy Tour
Go on a walking, cocktail tasting, tour of downtown Austin! We'll stop and talk about several hidden-face speakeasy style bars - some stashed inside parking garages, behind bookshelves, down alley ways, pass-code and password protected, and private clubs! We'll get you into three where we can order drinks! Meet downtown and we'll sit and chat for a few minutes at introducing ourselves and what it means to call a bar a speakeasy in Austin, TX. Then, we walk to the first bar. All the bars are located downtown within a few blocks of each other. We'll spend 30-45 minutes in each of three bars, having drinks, learning about the place, and appreciating the aesthetic. Throughout the night we will continue on past a total of seven hidden-face speakeasy style bars, stopping in some and just stopping to talk about others. The night ends once you get into the third and final bar and get your drinks ordered. We do not to include drinks to give you a lower price and more choice. We will have a group tab which can be paid for via cash, Apple Pay and Cash App. Prices vary by venue but $15-25 per drink (including a 20% tip) is a good ballpark.

Vintage Film Camera Photo Walk
We will meet in a beautiful greenspace that is located steps away from the iconic Colorado River that runs through the center of Austin. Guests will gather while we hand out their film camera (Canon AE-1) that comes with a stylish strap, attached lens cap, and a roll of film. We will introduce ourselves, get to know each other, and the guests will receive a basic lesson on shooting film. Once everyone feels comfortable with their camera and it's functions, we will then begin our stroll that will take us alongside the river, across two incredibly scenic bridges, through a park, and back to the greenspace we first met. On the walk, I will be a tour guide informing them about what they are seeing and will give fun facts, history, and background at each "photo op" stop. The guests will be guided to take shots of the beautiful scenery and fill their camera roll with stunning images. My partner (a camera expert) will be amongst the group answering questions, solving technical issues, and teaching the guests more about film photography and how to nail that perfectly exposed shot. At the end of the walk, we will collect their rolls of film and their information and send them digital scans of their epic photos via email.
Go Tubing in Austin’s Spring Water
You're in town for 2 days. Why waste 4 hours on a hot bus when you can tube the spring river near downtown Austin and make the most out of the rest of your day? Book this tube float trip and maximize your stay. Here are the main benefits of booking this trip. We are floating near downtown Austin so less time on the road and you're definitely not sharing a bus with 50 other people. The river is slow and relaxing. No rapids. For the adventure seekers there is a bridge jump and plenty of rope swings. The springs make an excellent swimming hole. When the trip is over there is still plenty of fun to have without a tube and no bus to catch so you can hangout longer at Zilker Park or Barton Springs or in the river you just tubed! There is what I can only describe as "Party Island" at the end of the float which is a sand bar where hundreds of people hangout in the middle of the river on the weekends. This trip is nice because you can make it what you want from family friendly to Bachelor's in Paradise. For me this is the best tubing experience in the area because the section we float is "The Real heart and soul of Austin" I am the #1 experience host in Austin with several other tours including the "Kayaking with the Bats" trip which has over a thousand reviews. When you book with me, my auto reply comes with a "must do in Austin list" so you can make the most of your trip!

Giant Paddleboard at Sunset w/ Bats!
This is the best way to experience the bats hands down. The journey on the 5-6 person giant paddle board starts with epic downtown views during the day, continues with the sunset, then observing the 1.5 million bats fly out and ends the night paddling back after dark in the city glow. July 2022 UPDATE: The bats are the best they've been in 10 years right now. Don't miss this trip. Booking this tour for the sunset and bats puts you along side Austin's #1 experience "kayaking w/ the bats" only you're on a board! Its the same trip just a different vessel. I also host daytime paddles using the same boards so message me if you want to take a custom trip on the boards to a secret island or the springs Don't let the word "Paddleboard" fool you. This is 15 feet long and 4.5 feet wide. It is ultra stable. You will not get wet unless you choose to go for a swim. You can sit down, stand up, or even lay down. It's impossible to fall into the water on accident. It takes 2 people to paddle a giant board so single travelers may be asked to join another group. The mega paddle boards make for an excellent family or group option cause you get to stay together and share the experience. As a bonus, as soon as you book, my auto-reply welcome message has my personal guidebook to Austin that can help you plan the rest of your Austin vacation.! View my IG: @boatsandbats

Giant Glow Paddle Boarding the Springs
This tour is all about exploring the spring fed river in downtown Austin at night! We will meet up just after sunset and use the giant paddle boards to paddle up the spring river. You'll have 12 different color combinations to choose from and your lights will illuminate the crystal clear spring water below. We will most likely be the only people in the water and it's just an unreal experience when you light up the water below. We don't have bioluminescence in our river but this experience is the next best thing. The lights attract the fish and we're sure to see some turtles too. When you paddle the bubbles in the water are really cool! There are opportunities to swim or just stay on the board and remain 100% dry. This is a magical trip because you're downtown but surrounded by darkness and sounds of the night like cicadas, frogs, etc. Get lucky with timing and you'll have a nice moon overhead or some great stars. As with all our other tours, when you book you'll automatically be sent a link with all of our other Austin recommendations to help you plan the rest of your trip! There is also a daytime version of this same trip without lights that I host. Its called "Giant Paddle Board & Swimming in Springs" Looking at that tour helps understand this one.

Giant Paddle Board & Swimming in Springs
The best way to experience the real Austin is to jump on a Giant Paddleboard with us and explore the natural spring fed river downtown. We start on Lady Bird Lake and quickly transition to the crystal clear waters of the famous Barton Springs Pool. Wear your swimsuit so you can jump in and swim around! It's so refreshing on a hot summer day. Expect to see 1,000 turtles and a lot of fish below! This trip is great for groups and families. I call this section of the river "the real heart and soul of Austin." You will be surrounded by people living their best life. There will be people jumping off bridges and going off the rope swings. Occasionally there are slack lines setup across the river and other impromptu shows and acrobats hanging below the bridge. On the weekends, there is a massive party island you can join if you'd like. Its easy to avoid the area if you're looking for a family friendly event and easy to join if you like the water party atmosphere with a sand bar feel. If you like paddle boarding, sun, spring water, swimming, bridge jumps, rope swings, hotties, fish and turtles this trip is for you and your group. Groups of 4+ get their own board, smaller groups are combined to make it a more social event. On the fence? Ask to see the video! Book now and my auto reply comes with a "must do in Austin" list to help you plan the rest of your trip!
Austin's Art and History Bike Tour
You'll visit the famous Treaty Oak and get the chance to learn about it's long and sometimes strange history as a location for war and peace parties with various Native American Tribes. You'll get a chance to see one of the few remaining active moon-towers; was Jack the Ripper really in Austin first? We will take a ride through the University of Texas Campus to see the iconic tower that Charles Whitman made famous in 1966 and learn about school's founding in 1883. You will also take a pedal down to the State Capital grounds to talk about the founding of Texas and the struggle that took place in naming Austin as the capital.
