Snowshoe the Magical Winter Wonder Land of Lake Superior
Winter in the UP is like living in a white fairy tale filled with beautiful nature scenarios and endless winter activities. Join me on a snowshoe tour through the magical winter forest often breaking a new trail through untouched terrain. Through an opening in the dense forest we will get a first glimpse of Lake Superior in different stages of ice formations. I will take you out just along the edge of the frozen lake. Ice formations are just the best Mother Nature has to offer! Just breathtaking! We can climb over the huge ice dunes and look down at the "breathing" lake; active ice volcanoes spewing water, icicles galore, and colors of a hew you have never seen before. After exploring the typically noisy lake shore we will return to our starting point through another trail through the woods. There is plenty to see for all - excursions are made to fit all ability levels. I will provide snowshoes, cleats, and hiking sticks. My tour is offered depending on snow and current weather conditions. While I have to set a certain time of the day to start our snowshoeing experience, it sometimes might be necessary to change the time of day due to weather conditions. My tour is geared toward people with no snowshoeing experience and I will take great care that trails are lengthened or shortened according to ability levels. Experience time includes travel time.

Alpaca Love
Spend an hour with alpacas on our organic hobby farm - where animals are family. Libby is the matriarch, Lizzy is her next in charge, and Chips and Salsa are their crias (and half-siblings) who were both born here at the farm in 2019. We'll start out with a meet and greet with the alpacas, providing you with their favorite grain to feed to them. Most days, Chips is a fan of bodywork, getting all of the scratching and loving you can muster. She was handled quite extensively after her birth and is a fan of humans - often bumping noses with guests during her investigation of them. Did you know that alpacas are huge fans of water? When the temps outside are warmer, you’ll be their favorite person when you turn on the hose at the barn to fill their kiddie pool and shower them until they are soaked through - and loving it! Don't be surprised if Polo, our 150-pound Pyrador farm dog tries to get in their pool, too. We're happy to answer all of your questions about our hobby farm, alpacas and other animals we keep and raise. We have lived here for about a decade and the farm and animals teach us something new each day. You'll also have an opportunity to visit our historic red dairy barn for a peek at vintage and local goods or to grab some quick refreshment for yourself.

Each guest will have the opportunity to innoculate a log and take it home to eat when it fruits!

Once we see Lakefront Brewing, which marks the end of the downtown corridor, we will and loop back to the Cooperage Docks.
