Sunset Hike at Poo-Poo-Point w/ Paragliders
Enjoy a beautiful afternoon hike and sunset a-top one of the most beautiful yet accessible mountains, only 30 mins outside of the city! Poo-Poo-Point is one of my favorite hikes in the region. It offers incredible views of Mount Rainier, Lake Sammamish, Bellevue & Seattle Skylines, and paragliders!! It's the perfect place to get a work out while enjoying incredible views. We will depart in the afternoon from the city (I will pick you up from your accomodation or a mutually agreed place), we will drive to the trailhead. The ascent is about 1 hour (1,650 ft elevation gain). We will enjoy the two different view points and the sunset. If the paragliders are out, we can spend some time watching them take off and soar in the sky. Sometimes, you may even find an impromptu ride down the mountain via Paragliding! After enjoying the views, we will hike down (takes about 45 mins), and I'll drop you off at your point of origin. The hike is moderate, but it's definitely doable for everyone who enjoys getting some exercise in the outdoors! The paragliders are usually out when the air flow is warm. There is no guarantee of paraglider sightings due to changing weather conditions, but you will get a good work out!
Experience Glass Project
While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and glass blowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses and a face mask with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We can be flexible. Feel free to reach out to us to schedule a specific date and time or a private group if you don't see it on our calendar. Other things to note... We keep our groups small; you may join a few other explorers (we limit our trips at ten guests) from all over the world. We’ll pick you up from downtown Seattle at a stop convenient to you, then we head for the mountain! We’ll stop along the way to stretch our legs and have a little breakfast, coffee and tea. In the National Park we’ll see giant old growth trees, icy waterfalls, and watch for elk, bears and birds. We’ll ditch the van to explore several mellow trails and share secrets of the volcano’s diverse ecosystems and wonder at some of the most pristine and stunning wilderness in the world. We’ll cater length and level of activity to the desires of the group. At the end of the day we’ll return you to your place in downtown Seattle! Other things to note - Even if you're the only person booking a trip date - join us! It's likely someone else is booked (that called us to book) instead of AirBNB. - Don't see your preferred date? We make exploring the PNW easy by offering guided hiking tours of the North Cascades. Our early pick up time (6am weekends, 7am weekdays) means that you'll get to the trailhead before the crowds. You'll start your morning with hot coffee/tea and pastries as you're driven to the trailhead. Along the drive, your guide will share insight into Seattle's present and past, highlighting fun things to do in the city. Once at the trailhead, your guide will give a quick safety briefing before starting the hike. Your guide will also provide you with a backpack to use during the hike, which has lunch, water, and the ten-essentials (comfort/safety items that should always come on any hike with you!) During the hike, your guide will point out interesting flora and fauna and will teach you about the geology of the PNW. Our guides are Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certified. Your guide to Seattle

What do locals do in Seattle?

Spend time in Fremont

Whether you’re visiting or local, Fremont is a laid-back neighborhood loved most for its quaint cafes, bike-friendly trails along the Lake Washington Ship Canal, and (yes) that recognizable troll statue that’s made cameos in its fair share of blockbuster movies. Take a walking tour of the neighborhood with one of its residents to get the most of your visit. Don’t miss Fremont Lookout for great city views.

Visit breweries in Ballard

The once sleepy Scandinavian village, where you can still visit impressive landmarks like the Ballard Locks, is today a beacon of breweries. Family traditions, old world brews, and innovative beers are all within an easy, relaxed walk or bike ride through this mostly flat neighborhood. There’s plenty of dog- and kid-friendly spots to kick back and relax.

Hike Volunteer Park

This nearly 50-acre public park teems with things to do for all ages. Visit the Seattle Asian Art Museum, take a short hike to the water tower to enjoy secretive views of the city from an observation deck, or laze about the Great Lawn for a picnic. In the summer months (typically around August), don’t miss the dahlias in full bloom here.

Indulge in Chinese food

Eat your way through Chinatown on a food tour, find the best noodles in the International district, or learn to make classic dumplings in a cooking class.

Explore Seattle’s waterways

Paddleboard on Green Lake and at Alki Beach, row or kayak along Lake Washington and Lake Union, or enjoy private boat cruises around the Puget Sound.

What are the best ways to explore outdoors?

Day trips to national parks and waterfalls

Anyone looking to enjoy a day out to Mount Rainier or Olympic national parks can easily take off from Seattle. Both parks are about a 2-hour drive (one way), and getting up early to get ahead of the day is a great way to maximize time exploring the majesty of the Pacific Northwest. For another special (and closer) experience: Join a local expert on a 30-minute drive out to admire Snoqualmie Falls for hikes for all activity levels. After, stop at a family-run winery in the foothills of the Cascade mountains for a quiet gourmet lunch and laid-back tastings.

Forest bathing and urban hikes

What makes a city like Seattle so unique? You don’t have to go far to experience old-growth forests in places such as Seward Park, where an entire part of the park is covered in centuries-old trees. Take time to slow down and appreciate the beauty surrounding you on some 13 trailheads.

What are the best things to do at night in Seattle?

Seattle is known for its music and arts, and areas like Capitol Hill and the downtown are great places to find music clubs, museums, and galleries. For those looking for more hands-on activities, shake things up with mixology classes, a supernatural experience at Pike Place Market, and more.
